We love you Astoria Co+op!
We love our local Astoria Co+op! What a great video showing its history and the history of coops in the area.
Thank you to Astoria Co+op and our community for the generous round-up donations last month! We couldn’t do this work without your support and care. 💜
I want to take this opportunity to thank you sincerely for your help the day I locked my keys in my car when shopping at the Co-op. The team worked together and made sure I got home safely. When nothing else worked, a team member called 🗝 A Coastal Lock-n-Key 🗝 who arrived within 5 minutes of the call and opened my car for me. A special thank you to Sara who cheerfully offered a round trip home to look for a spare key, and when I was unsuccessful in finding one, she suggested I make a copy of my key to keep in my wallet so to avoid this situation in the future. Thank you all for your kindness and understanding. 🥰
With support from Spark Northwest to win a $50,000 grant from the Rural Energy for America Program, the Astoria Co+op just installed a 60kW #solar array. That's enough solar to replace about 25% of the store's fossil fuel energy use, even on the overcast Oregon coast! #cleanenergy (photos: Broken Banjo Photography)
TGIF…..saw this hard cider at the Astoria Co+op and had to try it due to the cloudberry flavor. It’s quite refreshing!

Finn Ware is open Saturday 10-4.
Many of you have been asking: Where can we find Pan’s?! We are excited to highlight our retailer partners across the country that carry Pan’s Mushroom Jerky, now featuring… 🌲 PACIFIC NORTHWEST 🌲

Just restocked 46 North Farm’s plant stand at Astoria Co+op. There are lots of leafy greens, peas, herbs, and lovely flowers for you and the pollinators- take advantage of this warm weather and get your garden going! It feels like Spring is finally springing on Oregon’s north coast 💚
Thanks in part to Blue Sky Block participants, the Astoria Co+op installed a 51-kilowatt solar array on their roof last month! These panels will cover approximately one third of the co-op’s electricity needs and save them about $500 per month. Congratulations! 🎉
Throwing a little shout out to our Coastal customers who ranked in this year's Reader's Choice Awards!!

For the last few months, our deli has been cooking soups once a week to send to the Astoria Warming Center, which has been able to offer services without weather restrictions this year. We value the work the warming center is doing to provide a dinner and a place to sleep for some of our most vulnerable community members.

Happy New Year's Eve! Our Deli is bringing in 2022 with a traditional good luck soup called Hoppin’ John. The origins of Hoppin' John come from West Africans who were enslaved and brought to the American South. There, they could prepare this dish of rice and beans that reminded them of home. Eventually, the stew became known as "Hoppin' John," which is made with black-eyed peas to represent coins, collard greens to represent paper money, and tomatoes to signify health. It is customary to eat it on New Year's Day with “golden” cornbread and to leave three black-eyed peas in one’s bowl to bring good luck. The co-op is offering a version with pork as well as a vegan option, pictured. You can find it in the grab-and-go section today and in the hot soup bar on New Year’s Day. Good luck in the coming year! We will be open regular hours, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., today and tomorrow. #HappyNewYear

Pick up some fine champagne for your New Year's celebrations!
Andre Clouet Grand Reserve is 100% Pinot Noir from the small grower Grand Cru vineyards in the exceptional climate of the Bouzy region. Complex and forward in style with a fruity nose and some zest at the finish. Exceptional value!
Bereche & Fils Brut Reserve is traditional style, harmonic and nuanced. Among the region's finest producers. It has bright lemon and apple acidity with a creamy lees. Impressive.
Thanks to wine and beer expert Melanie S. for the photos and content!
