I have screenplays set in western NC, among other places.
FYI- Ribbon Cutting of the Michelson Cinema Research Library at the Internet Archive:
Working full-time as a composer, shorts and features, Film School Graduate working in the industry, just moved to Asheville.

I also am fully certified in FCX for editing, and Logic ProX for sound design. Hit me up if any students or anyone else needs music, sound, or an editor!
I love that your school was able to still have a “social distance” version of camp! I just recently came across the trailer for the film Chief Zabu and thought I would share! The 80’s comedy tells the tale of two New York realtors and their decision to exploit a small island in order to gain political power and wealth. Chief Zabu has been 30 years in the making and is finally coming to VOD on August 7th. If you happen to look into Chief Zabu let me know your thoughts!
As a huge of film fan, I am very excited to suggest that you all check out Film Festival Flix for quality movies and documentaries. They do so by offering a wide variety of collections and channels for you to see the content it has. For example, I saw “Boy” by Taika Waititi recently and highly enjoyed it, as well as the documentary “More than Honey” by Markus Imhoof (Both on the Kino Lobrer channel). You can see a majority of these collections and channels for free for the first week of your trial. I love checking this website out and hope you all enjoy it as well.

For my film classes I had to watch films featured in film festivals and I came across #TheNightEatstheWorld when checking out Tribeca Film Festival's line up. I think you guys would really like it because its not your typical zombie flick it's actually super artsy and breaks genre conventions. I think it's definitely something worth checking out.
I'd love to share this incredible opportunity w/ you all!

Hello Asheville School of Film! I saw The Truth About Lies on VOD last week, absolutely loved it and think you guys would too! It's a wildly different love story between a man and his best friend's sister! It's full of sarcastic and witty humor as well as oddly relevant life lessons! Highly recommended! http://geni.us/TTAL

You won't want to miss our second panelist for Video Village- Film Edition, Takashi Doscher, an award-winning writer and director from Atlanta, GA.

His second feature film, Only, stars Freida Pinto and Tony-winning Leslie Odom Jr as star-crossed lovers surviving in a world without women. It premiered at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival and quickly climbed Netflix US to be the #2 most-streamed film in the country in the summer of 2020. Currently, Takashi is in development on several feature films: his take on a Japanese kaiju film produced by the Russo Brother’s AGBO, a grounded sci-fi look at immigration produced by Michael London’s Groundswell, and a tense father-son thriller produced by Corporate Witchcraft.

Previously, Takashi wrote/produced/directed the feature film, Still, starring Madeline Brewer, Nick Blood and Lydia Wilson. It won several awards on the festival circuit before selling to The Orchard for world-wide distribution. It is available now on Hulu. In 2016, Takashi was named on the Tracking Board's HIT List and Young & Hungry List for his spec script, The Life Inside.

Outside of scripted content, Takashi is also an accomplished documentary director. In 2018, his international music documentary, Hear Us, premiered across the country on PBS. The story follows three music prodigies in the high-stakes world of classical music, winning a prestigious NY Film & TV Award. He is also the youngest director to sell a film to ESPN with his feature documentary, A Fighting Chance. His ESPN follow-up captured the first ever summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro by a quad-amputee. The story won an ESPY in 2013.
