At our Open House and Community Picnic yesterday we presented four deserving Eagle Scouts with a certificate from the Grand Lodge of Virginia recognizing their great achievement. It was priviledge for our Lodge to meet these young men and recognize them.

Reminder that tomorrow we will be having our Annual Open House and Community Picnic starting at 9:00AM. We will have a moon bounce for the kids, Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Child ID, and a presentation to local Eagle Scouts at 11AM. We will also have hamburgers and hotdogs for lunch. Please join us for this annual fun event and explore our Lodge.

Ashburn-Sterling Lodge will be having our March meeting this Tuesday with dinner at 6:30PM. After dinner and prior to opening a Master Masons Lodge we will have a program from Worshipful Jason Richards from the Masonic Roundtable. His program will discuss Operative Masonry in Scotland. Entered Apprentices, Fellowcrafts, and those interested in freemasonry can join us for dinner and the program.

Today Freemasonry is celebrating a special anniversary. Exactly 300 years ago on June 24th 1717, four London Lodges met at the Goose and Gridiron Tavern in St Paul's Churchyard and declared themselves a Grand Lodge. This date is known as the birth date of the Grand Lodge of England and establishment of the first Grand Lodge in the world.
