A year and a half after opening a private practice we have made the next leap by purchasing our office suite. Rent is now due to Zelch Properties LLC! I am so grateful for my family, friends, mentors, and patients that have helped me get to this point.

Congratulations to Dr. Timothy Zelch on officially becoming the 22nd Fellow in the McKenzie Institute! After years of post doctoral education, mentorship, didactic work, and exams, he completed the Mckenzie Institute Fellowship toward the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship (FAAOMPT). He would like to express gratitude to the Institute, his mentors, family, and patients that helped him along this road.
At Spine and Orthopedic Solutions physical therapy we are always dedicated to furthering our knowledge, skills and abilities to serve our patients.

Today marks Spine and Orthopedic Solutions one year anniversary! Dr. Zelch and Dr. Canfield are very grateful and appreciate our families, patients, and medical communities support. We are excited for what the coming year will bring.

webpt.com On March 19, the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) of the US Department of Homeland Security issued a memorandum and associated guidance designating physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists as “essential critical infrastructure workers.”

Dr. Zelch is a diplomate of McKenzie Method, this is the highest level of training in Mechanical diagnosis and therapy (MDT). This level of training and expertise enables our clinic to have this designation by the McKenzie Institute International.

Dr. Tim Zelch is currently completing his fellowship in Buffalo, New York under the supervision of Dr. Ron Schenk and Dr. Joseph Lorenzetti. This weekend, when not in the clinic, he had a chance to drive to Canada to do some sightseeing.

Tim Zelch, DPT, Dip MDT, COMT, CMTPT received his BS in Rehabilitation Science and then his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh. His interests are in outpatient orthopedics, in particular spine pathology.

In his postdoctoral training he obtained certifications in McKenzie’s Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment (Cert MDT), Maitland’s Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT), MyoPain’s Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist (CMTPT). To further his expertise with spine and extremities he completed the McKenzie Institute International Diploma MDT (Dip MDT) program through the University of Dundee Scotland. Worldwide there are fewer than 500 Physical Therapist that have accomplished this level of training and he is one of three in the state of Virginia and the only one in Loudoun county.

Following 3 years of didactic and rigorous clinical training, in 2019 he will complete his Fellowship training for the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapist association (FAAOMPT). Less than one percent of Physical Therapists attain this level of advance Manual Therapy practice. As a leader in the profession he organizes and leads monthly study group meetings for Maryland, Virginia, and DC Physical Therapists, Chiropractors, and Physicians. There they discuss the most recent research, techniques, and practice patterns.
