Long post for me - A great night at PVHS for the last baseball and softball games on the original fields. Old friends, lifelong memories, and embellished stories. Thank you to all of the dads and moms who devoted countless hours to help build, maintain, and support our fields beginning in 1976. Appreciation to our coaches, administrators, and teammates for being in our lives. 3 highlights from the night: 1. Hugs from coaches Mike Nunnally and Beth Walker who are still a part of my life today. 2. Standing at home plate with heroes and role models. Principal Jim Person, a mentor for me as a school administrator. Rob Fulcer; lifelong friend, teammate, and booster member. My lifelong hero and role model who has guided and supported me in every endeavor - my ultimate teammate - Denny Petrella. 3. Denny and Rob's idea to get our pictures with the players wearing our numbers! Meeting these fine young men and seeing their joy for playing PVHS baseball was amplified by their appreciation for our interest in their journey. Another lesson learned about the importance of being a positive impact in the life of a child. Love my home plate picture with 3 men who epitomize commitment to our community, and a young man who will also follow the lead!

National Police Week! A touching wreath laying ceremony today hosted by the US Secretary of the Interior, Deb Haaland. A gracious host with such warm and emotional messages. So blessed, with Diane, to be surrounded by our special US Park Police family, honoring my father and his fellow heroes lost in the line of duty protecting our communities.

20 years ago today I faced an uncertain future hearing the words "You have Cancer". Today, I will celebrate with a planning meeting for Relay For Life of Loudoun, attend our Purcellville Arts & Music Festival, and officiate my 1295th wedding ceremony. Tomorrow I will spend the day celebrating with my grandkids at our Pearson Smith Realty Hearts & Home charity event at Harvest Gap Brewery. I love my life. Celebrate Life every day!!!!
