Cravens in Italy

The trip continued as the Cravens spent time with friends from the Church of Siena, where Will preached this past Sunday. Sandra and Will were also invited to speak in multiple classes to invite kids to USA and to Uruguay. Another school issued an invitation to come share as well. Please continue to pray for the Cravens family as they head north to meet with other mission partners there.

Memorial Day Sunday

Join us on this upcoming Memorial Day Sunday, at 5pm, as we remember those who made sacrifices for us to enjoy our many blessings today. We also draw closer to the end of the record in Acts... Paul finds himself in legal battles. God gives him the faith and discernment to appeal to the higher court, sharing the gospel with the Emperor; a risk only worth taking with faith in Christ Eternal.

Acts 21-23: FINISH WELL

Have you ever been in a race of any kind? Maybe you ran a marathon, or even raced cars. Several times throughout the bible, Paul describes his journey and commitment to share the good news of the Gospel as a race. Why? Because running any long distance race requires a choice, determination, preparation, adjustments and endurance. It will be challenging; however, if we finish well we will receive our prize in heaven.

Join us this Sunday at 5pm, as we dive into Acts 21 - 23, to prepare and finish our race well. We look forward to seeing you then!

Acts 16-18: Going Against the Grain

In today's cancelled culture, it is increasingly difficult to go against the grain of society. It is not always easy to speak the truth or do the right thing. We will explore Paul's second missionary journey, and how God used him to boldly preach the Gospel. Paul was ridiculed, accused of blasphemy, put in prison for going against the grain. What can we learn from Paul, and how can we be a salt and a light to the world?

Join us this Sunday at 5pm, as we study Acts 16-18. We look forward to seeing you then!

Men's Group Book Study

Men,
Join us for the study of this amazing book by bestselling author and pastor, Louie Giglio: Don't Give the Enemy a Seat at you Table Book
(Click the link above, or scan the QR on the picture to buy the book).

Let's find freedom as we let Jesus lead the battle for our hearts! Scripture makes it clear that Satan will do anything to tempt us into poor decisions and self-defeating mindsets---including anxiety, rage, lust, and despair. But, by examining Psalm 23 in fresh ways, Giglio helps us reject enemy voices and receive encouragement, hope, and strength. In this study, we will learn how to:
Break free from the endless cycle of destructive thinking and recapture our freedom to our thoughts and emotions
Cancel the lies that will wreck our lives and take the empowering steps to live fully alive in Christ
Stop the spiral of shame, temptation, and insecurity
Restore peace and rest in our lives
Embrace the true purpose behind our journey through challenging circumstances
Next meeting dates are:
May 4th, May 11, and May 18
From 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

Our Story

HISTORY: In 2007, New Life Church in Chantilly, Virginia launched a church service in Ashburn, Virginia. The new service was led by Pastor Mike Epps, who adopted the name J10, as the official Ashburn campus name. J10, was taken from John 10:10, focusing on Jesus’ words, “I came that you might have life, and have it to the full.” The church met in numerous schools and a hotel in Ashburn as Mike faithfully led J10 Church for approximately 7 years. In the summer of 2014, Mike resigned to pursue a career in business. The church hired Will Cravens as their new lead pastor in September of 2014. In spring of 2015, the church moved from Embassy Suites in Ashburn to their present location on Red Rum Drive.

In addition, after the entire church took a time to prayerfully consider the direction forward, leadership felt led to make some changes. With numerous churches meeting in Ashburn every Sunday morning, the church decided to begin holding services on afternoons at 5pm, to become a church for those who may be unable to attend on Sunday mornings.

Secondly, we took time to consider our CORE VALUES. We defined them as:
1. Love God (Consider what this looks like on a daily practical level)
2. Love Each Other (Community - Actually care for others at our church)
3. Love the Church (Local, National & World-wide that make up the Body of Christ) 4. Love Everyone Else (Love those who do not believe in God or Christianity)

Thirdly, we decided to change the name of the church to fit the Core Values and direction of the church. We landed on the name BRIDGE COMMUNITY CHURCH, since we shared the desire for Bridge to be a place where we build bridges of relationship with God and with others. As God extended the bridge between humanity and Himself by sending His Son Jesus to come to earth and die for our sins, with the ultimate bridge being the cross of Christ, we believe we should follow His model. We seek to extend the love and grace of God in practical ways that compel us to love and serve here in our own community and beyond.
