Our desire is that everyone - whether they enter our doors or not - would discover the sacredness of their own story, celebrate their spirituality, and fully enjoy an everyday life with God.

God is everywhere, in everything, and with you every day. Crossroads is a community that intentionally celebrates and extends God’s unlimited welcome and unconditional love to people both inside and outside the walls of a church building. We are equally passionate about and committed to two forms that help us pursue our vision: one is the ministries centered here at Crossroads Drive, and the other

Operating as usual

Romans 5:8- But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Morning Prayer: God, we often offer love that is conditional on other people meeting our expectations. You offer each of us unconditional love, never based on anything we could ever do, say or be. This brings peace and courage to my spirit and inspires me to think deeply about how I can offer more love, hope and light to the world each day. This is my desire. May it be so.

Morning Focus: Is it easy for you to love without conditions? Reflect on your answer.

Matthew 8:5-10- When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. “Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.” Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?” The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.

Morning Prayer: God, help me take inspiration from the incredible faith of the man in this story. I know that You are always trustworthy and Your power is limitless. Yet too often, my actions and emotions do not match what I profess to believe. May my hope in You permeate all that I am today, throughout my body, mind, and heart. There is reason to hope all around me, open my mind to see it. May it be so.

Morning Focus: Where does your faith feel limited today? How can hope evolve your perspective?

I Corinthians 13:1-7 If I speak in languages of human beings and of angels but I don’t have love, I’m a clanging gong or a crashing cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and I know all the mysteries and everything else, and if I have such complete faith that I can move mountains but I don’t have love, I’m nothing. If I give away everything I have and hand over my own body to feel good about what I’ve done but I don’t have love, it is no benefit whatsoever. Love is patient, love is kind, it isn’t jealous, it doesn’t brag, it isn’t arrogant, it isn’t rude, it doesn’t seek its own advantage, it isn’t irritable, it doesn’t keep a record of complaints, it isn’t happy with injustice, but it is happy with the truth. Love puts up with all things, trusts in all things, hopes for all things, endures all things.

Morning Prayer: God, give me a loving heart today so that I might walk in the world as a living expression of Your great love for all people. Love is all that truly lasts in life. Guide my thoughts, my words and actions today with Your loving hand that I might better share Your love in honest and authentic ways. May it be so.

Morning Focus: Let love be your guide today and every day.

I Thessalonians 3:12 May the Lord cause you to increase and enrich your love for each other and for everyone in the same way as we also love you.

Morning Prayer: God, it is just so amazing to feel loved. Some days I seem to just overflow with love, but then there are some where I struggle to feel loved or offer love. I give thanks for the reassurance of the words of this scripture, knowing that Your desire for me is to be loved and to offer love in abundance. Let me offer love to all, regardless of their race, their economic status, their faith, or lack of faith, their gender or gender identification. All are Your children and my siblings. Let my love for myself and others enrich our lives. May it be so.

Morning Focus: We are loved by God. Receiving the love of God means sharing the love of God.

I Corinthians 16:14 Everything should be done in love.

Morning Prayer: God, I long to offer love in everything I do and in every way I can, so let love begin with me. From my morning shower to my evening prayer, may my every act be an act of love. If I enter a situation that lacks love, help me be brave enough to step forward to offer love in whatever way it is called for. May it be so.

Morning Focus: God’s own love flows through me out into the world. I am truly blessed.

[07/14/21]   Midday Pause: Counting on your fingers, pause and list 10 things you are grateful for. We are called to be thankful people, and this attitude requires action.

07/14/2021

Colossians 3:12-15 Therefore, as God’s choice, holy and loved, put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Be tolerant with each other and, if someone has a complaint against anyone, forgive each other. As the Lord forgave you, so also forgive each other. And over all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. The peace of Christ must control your hearts—a peace into which you were called in one body. And be thankful people.

Morning Prayer: God, I praise You for Your unconditional love and forgiveness. From this belovedness, I step out into the world, Your call to simply “go!” motivating each step. As I strive to embody Your character today, remind me of Your virtues again and again. When I am compassionate and kind, may others see You as compassionate and kind. When I speak with humility, patience, and gentle words, may others know that You listen with understanding. When I show forgiveness, may others trust they are forgiven by You and live boldly too. Unite us, God, to You and to each other. May it be so.

Morning Focus: Imagine yourself physically putting on the traits that God inspires and empowers us to show others. Just as others can see our clothing, imagine dressing in these words with love most outwardly visible.

John 13:34-35 “I give you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, so you also must love each other. This is how everyone will know that you are my disciples, when you love each other.”

Morning Prayer: God, in Jesus we received the ultimate example of love. You are love, and Jesus came to demonstrate what love looks like in my own neighborhood and around Your very diverse world. As important as it is to speak kind and loving words, to speak words telling of Your love, ultimately it is through my actions that I am identified as a follower of Jesus. Let all of my actions speak of Your Love, and be an example of love just as Jesus was. May it be so.

Morning Focus: Radiate the love of God to everyone you encounter today – family, friends and strangers alike.

1 John 4:7-8 Dear friends, let’s love each other, because love is from God, and everyone who loves is born from God and knows God. The person who doesn’t love does not know God, because God is love.

Morning Prayer: God, I want to bathe in Your love. I want it to saturate my life so that it fills me and overflows to everyone I meet on my journey. I know that my capacity to love others comes from You and not from my own strength, but today I come with a willing heart. I am ready to learn. Help me to know You more, to spend time with You and listen more carefully to Your gentle voice urging me on to greater love as I experience my own life drenched with Your love. May it be so.

Morning Focus: Spend time with God today by pausing, finding the still center of your heart and listening for God’s voice.

[07/11/21]   Midday Pause: Our greatest calling is to share the love and service that was modeled by Jesus with the rest of the world. How can you courageously step out and creatively live out this command today?

Matthew 28:16-20 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Morning Prayer: Thank you God for Your call and commission on my life. In seasons of confident worship or of uncertain doubt, You draw close to me, reminding me of Your power. Through the life and teachings of Jesus, my own deepest purpose is revealed. Help me to live out this mission, sharing Your unconditional love boldly and freely- outwardly to everyone I encounter and inwardly towards myself. I am never alone. I am always loved. Rooted in these truths, I can step out in Your name. May it be so.

Morning Focus: Jesus promises to always be with us. Where do you feel his loving friendship in your everyday life?
