Some of our staff attended Ashburn Children's Dentistry's "Sips, Sleep and Lasers" happy hour last Thursday. We learned about myofunctional dysfunction, how laser therapy improves sleep, how dentists and osteopaths guide growth and development, and the neurology behind integrative pediatric dentistry. It was informative and extremely interesting. A special thanks to Dr. Lynda and Dr. Krystal for the lovely evening. Check out Ms. Kirsten getting Oralase therapy!
We wore stripes today for Rare Disease Day! This is one our favorite super stars who rocked therapy today. Did you know that 1 out of 10 Americans are living with a rare disease?? WOW! We are blessed to work with many children with rare diseases and they bring us so much joy!

Bruce Willis’ Diagnosis Puts Aphasia in the Spotlight While aphasia is a newsworthy event in the lives of more than 2 million Americans, it’s not a condition that most people understand unless they had a friend or family member experience it. Another ASHA in the books! Learned some new things to bring back to Chatting Children. I also got to spend time with some of my favorites… Paul Richard Rao and Martina Rao, both mentors who have guided me so much through the years!!
Julie had the pleasure of presenting to the children at Winwood Brambleton for Career Day! The kids learned what a speech therapist does, as well as different ways to strengthen their mouth muscles so they can have clear speech. By the end of the presentation, every child in the room wanted to be a speech therapist when they grow up! 😊
Miss Kristin already has a graduate!!! She and this cutie worked so hard and she graduated last week from speech therapy. Huge congrats to them both! They already miss each other!
