SWEET CANDY...that's what our cakes are made of, no baking at all!
During this pandemic, I was trying to think of something new and creative to celebrate my oldest son’s birthday. I didn’t want to just order a cake, I had exhausted 16 years of designs and creativity. And...then I remembered that I had seen a post of a “candy cake”, which also included cutouts of the recipient's favorite sports/activities, as well as money and lottery tickets. That is when I had my “ah-ha” moment!!! I can create my own “candy cake” and include all of his favorite candies and colors...or whatever, the sky's the limit!
I decided to make a “test” run and wanted to craft a “candy cake”. I needed inspiration and came up with the idea of a “GRAD” candy cake. I thought it was a creative and unique gift for any local graduate during this crazy time where they should be attending their graduation, and I could create it in their high school colors, favorite activities, and a custom topper with their picture, the college that they’re going to attend, etc.
Here’s is my VERY first prototype...made in a local high school colors of red, white and blue!
After completing my “candy cake”, I got rave reviews from family and friends! And then, my husband was laid off, and my entrepreneurial juices started flowing. Is there a market for this type of craft, I hadn’t seen anything really like this before...? So I decided to put it out there and see what kind of feedback I would get, and there was a demand, but not only for graduation...it occurred to me that the events for this type of gift were endless.
