Another former Ashburn Xtreme player, Ryan Leibold (1998), is cutting his pro teeth with the Washington Capitals. Ryan is attending Capitals Development Camp at MedStar this week with an eye towards playing professionally this season. The Xtreme is entering its 22nd season of operation as the premiere youth hockey organization on the East Coast. We are members of the PVAHA (Potomac Valley Amateur Hockey Association) and Southeastern District of USA Hockey.

The club is run day-to-day by Gary Pouliot (Executive Director) and Troy MacCormick (Hockey Director). The two directors have worked closely for over 18 years to provide a consistently strong program that is the envy of many. Our clubs footprint is National, with five USA Hockey Championships won since 2013.

We look forward to welcoming back returning players and anyone who wants to be a part of our very successful program moving forward.

In order to best evaluate our players, everyone is expected to attend all sessions. This includes goalies attending your birth year tryouts and the goalie session on Sat April 22nd.

Parent meeting attendance by at least one decision making parent/guardian is required.

Tryouts are listed by player birth year. Players are not allowed to join tryouts for a different birth year.

Xtreme 2008 and 18U AA are headed to USA Hockey Nationals.

The 2008 team, coached by Hockey Director Troy MacCormick, is taking the #1 ranked Tier 2 'AA' in the country to Denver, CO and will compete at the 3A level.

Gary Pouliot, Executive Director of the Xtreme, will lead his #18 ranked 18U AA team in USA Hockey Nationals played in Maple Grove, MN.

Preliminary round games start on Thursday March 30th for both teams. Please note time zones for each club if you are hoping to catch the action on USAHOCKEYTV.

The Xtreme 18U AA team rebounded from a Saturday night home loss in Game #1 of their best of three series vs Reston Raiders by locking down the final two games (3-0 and 3-1) on Sunday. Head Coach Gary Pouliot and the Xtreme 18U AA team are headed to Maple Grove, MN as Virginia State Champs and will compete for the clubs 6th USA Hockey National Championship March 30 to April 4. Big weekend ahead for the Ashburn Xtreme as our three National Bound teams compete in the Virginia State Playoffs. The Xtreme 2008's will take on the Caps Academy at the 14U AA level. The Xtreme 16U AA #1 and 18U AA teams will face the Reston Raiders at the 16U AA and 18U AA levels.

Each state championship is a best of three series...first team to reach two wins will advance to USA Hockey Nationals.

What a season for the Ashburn Xtreme Sq**rt X (2012-13) team. They are your CBHL 10U LA Playoff Champions. Head Coach Rob Pendleton had this team "cooking with gas" all season. The Sq**rt X completed back to back 40 win seasons, finishing the 2022-23 campaign with an astounding record of 50-11-1. The CBHL Playoffs saw three dominating wins over Caps Academy (7-0), Potomac Patriots (6-3) and Tomorrow's Ice in the Championship Game by a score of 7-2. Great job team!!

Congratulations to the Xtreme 2010 on finishing their season with a 12U AA AHF Playoff Championship played at Hollydell Ice Rink in Sewell, NJ March 3-5. The team, coached by Troy MacCormick, concluded their season with a 4-0 record in the playoffs, claiming back to back Atlantic Hockey Federation Regular Season and Playoff Championships. Round robin wins over Team Philadelphia (12-3), Montgomery Ice Devils Blue (7-2) and Philly Blazers (4-3) set up a rematch vs a Team Philadephia team that willed their way to the Championship game. The 2010's never trailed and claimed Championship rings with a 3-2 win. Congrats to Bryan Wallace, Anthony Giglio and Garrett Rupp on being named to the All Tournament team. This concludes an amazing season for the 2010's, who also won CBHL Regular Season and Playoff Championships on the year, finishing 2022-23 with a 55-7-3 overall record.

Congratulations to the coaches, players and families of the Ashburn Xtreme 2012, 2010 and 2008 birth year teams on their CBHL AA Playoff Championships.

The 2012's, coached by Eric Brandenburg followed up their AHF Playoff Championship last week in New Jersey with two impressive wins in the CBHL 10U AA playoffs, defeating The St James (8-2) and Loudoun Knights (6-3). The 2012's conclude their final 10U (Sq**rt) season with a 47-12-4 record. Awesome!

The 2010's, head coached by Troy MacCormick, concluded their CBHL season with a regular season and playoff championship for the second season in a row (34-0-1 in their last 35 CBHL games). The 2010's were tested this playoff and came out on top, 3-2 over The St James and 3-1 in the Finals vs Montgomery Blue. The 2010's have one weekend left, AHF Playoffs in New Jersey (Mar 3-5). Good luck this weekend boys!

2008's, led by head coach Troy MacCormick, completed a perfect CBHL season by capturing regular season and playoff championships. The 2008's conclude their 14U (Bantam) CBHL careers accumluating a perfect 49-0-0 two season league overall record. Next up for the Xtreme 2008's is Virginia State Championships on March 11-12. The best of 3 series (vs opponent TBD) will send the winner to USA Hockey Nationals (Tier 2 AA) as the Virginia representive. USA Hockey Nationals will take place in Littleton, Colorado March 30-April 3. Good luck 2008's!!

Two Ashburn Xtreme teams won AHF Playoffs this weekend in Mt. Laurel, NJ (Feb 18-20).

The 2012’s, coached by Eric Brandenburg, won four games, many in dramatic comeback fashion, to capture the AHF 10U AA Championship.

The 2008’s, coached by Troy MacCormick, won four straight games by a combined score of 21-2 to claim the AHF 14U AA Championship. The 2008’s completed a two year undefeated streak of 40 straight games, by winning all 20 games played in the AHF this season. The 2008’s were 13U AA AHF Champions in 2022, also winning all 20 games.

Congratulations to Coach Chris Pentin and the Ashburn Xtreme Peewee X2 team on a fantastic tournament in Pittsburgh (Dec 9-11). The team took home Championship honors by accumulating four straight wins against zero defeats in the Pittsburgh Winter Classic. Round-robin wins over the Allegheny Badgers (5-1), Pittsburgh Arctic Foxes (5-0) and the Pillar Hockey Academy (2-1) set up a Championship rematch against Pillar. The Xtreme shut them down, literally and figuratively, rolling to a 4-0 win. Great week team.

What a weekend for the Xtreme 2012 team in Pittsburgh during the My Hockey Tournaments Fall Classic held Oct 21-23, 2022.

The Xtreme dominated the competition from the word "GO", taking home top honors with wins over the Columbus Blue Jackets (6-3), South Pittsburgh Rebellion (7-2) and twice against the Huntsville Chargers (9-1 and 13-0 in the final).

Congrats to Head Coach Eric Brandenburg and the entire Xtreme 2012 team and coaching staff.

Congratulations to Coach Rob Pendleton and the Xtreme Sq**rt X team for their Championship victory in Cleveland, OH this past weekend. The Xtreme avenged a round robin loss (2-1) to the Applewood Coyotes by winning the Championship Game by a score of 8-3. The Xtreme Sq**rt X also had round robin wins of 6-3 over the Macomb Mavericks and 7-1 against Orchard Lake Red.

The Ashburn Xtreme is pleased to announce that we have renewed our goalie training contract with Paddledown Goaltending for the 2022-23 season.

Hockey Director Troy MacCormick stated,

"Our partnership with Paddledown Goaltending was well received last season by our goalies and their families. The goalies in our club were excited to have a professional coach for their position on the ice at team practices. Goalies were receiving real time instruction, implementing new ideas and getting immediate feedback to help them get better right away. 16U LA Team (Coach Gary Pouliot): CBHL 16U LA Playoff Champions, AHF 16U A Silver Regular Season Champions.

2005/06 16U AA #1 Team (Coach Brian Fleury): 16U Virginia State Champions and USA Hockey Nationals Qualified (in Troy, MI). The fifth Ashburn Xtreme team to win a USA Hockey National Championship, defeating the Maine Gladiators 6-3 in Troy, MI on Monday April 4, 2022.

2003/04 18U AA #1 Team (Coach Gary Pouliot): CBHL 18U AA Regular Season and Playoff Champions, AHF 18U AA Regular Season and Playoff Champions, Virginia State Champions, and USA Hockey Nationals Qualified (in Irvine, CA).

Our 21st season as the premiere hockey club in the DMV begins with tryouts on Saturday April 23rd.

Ashburn Xtreme Tryout Dates Announced for 2022-23 Season.

Tryouts will run over three days only.

All players will tryout on Saturday April 23rd and Sunday April 24th in their designated birth year tryout.

Register on or before April 15th to get the early bird registration fee. Fee to register goes up at 12:00:01 AM on April 16th.

The following teams will be selected after the second tryout (April 24th), with player notification and roster posting on Monday April 25th.

If a player does not make one of the teams above, they will be required to attend a 3rd and final tryout on Monday April 25th in order to be selected into the club at the following levels.
