Confession: I used to drink kombucha almost every day 😖

Why I don’t anymore? Bc I’ve learned the truth about fermented foods.

👉🏻fermented foods used to be survival foods. Back in the day when there were no grocery stores and no freezers or fridges people used to ferment food literally to survive until spring. Survival tactics are NOT health tactics 🥶

👉🏻bacteria in fermented foods are ones responsible for decomposing aka death. We need living bacteria like the ones found on fresh fruit and veggies 🥬

👉🏻bacteria that exist in fermented foods does not exist in our guts so it’s not beneficial for us at all😵‍💫

👉🏻there is no fight happening inside of your intestines between the “good” and the “bad” bacteria. You can’t get rid of bad bacteria by adding on the good ones. One doesn’t cancel the other out 🦠

I get it, the industry has a lot of money in marketing trying to push fermented foods on us. You’ll hear about all kinds of “studies” ehem *paid for by the industry* saying those foods are good for you but it’s just simply not true 🤥

Stick to what heals you and don’t get distracted 🤗

We went to the apple orchard today to pick some apples 🍎 That’s one of my favorite fall activities with my kids. According to @medicalmedium the act of picking fruit is one of the most powerful, grounding meditations that exists🤗🧘🏼‍♀️

Let’s talk about apples…

An apple a day keeps the doctor away, right?

How about 3 apples a day?🧐

Did mainstream dietary sources convince you it’s way too much sugar to eat that many apples?🤓

It’s not. As a matter of fact apples are a top pick when faced with any illness.

Apples:

🍎are anti-inflammatory
🍏a true brain food
🍎reduce viral and bacterial load
🍏encourage weight loss
🍎heavy metal, MSG and radiation detoxifiers
🍏cleanse the organs, especially colon
🍎hydrate on a deep cellular level

5 years ago I was sick and didn’t know what to do to get better. I’ve been prescribed many different medications throughout the years by different doctors but I’ve quickly learned those pharmaceuticals are just bandaids to mask my symptoms.

Then I found one of Medical Medium®] books and after reading it I knew I found the answers. Deep down inside I knew I was not meant to be sick. I was meant to thrive!

Anyone has a picky eater like me? 🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏽‍♀️🙋🏾‍♀️🙋🏿‍♀️

I have to say it’s been a struggle. This girl only likes about 5 foods. It’s an exaggeration but you know what I mean… 😬 However, with my persistence and with keeping the conversation about food going I think she’s coming around 🤞🏻

Here are a few rules to live by with picky eaters:

🥗KEEP OFFERING. Even if they said NO a million times, one day they just may change their minds 🤷🏼‍♀️

🥒BE THE EXAMPLE. If they see you eat healthy they are more likely to try it too 👀

🥑KEEP THEM INVOLVED. Let them help you shop for and make a healthy meal. The sense of accomplishment and inclusion just may make them try it 😁

🥝STIMULATE THEIR IMAGINATION. Tell them about all the superpowers their body will have when eating certain foods. Kids love playing with their imagination 🦸🏼‍♀️

Even if it only gets you a bite of a salad or a sip of a smoothie, keep trying! You got this, mama 💪🏻

Lemon balm, also known as Mellisa, is an amazing herb for calming the nerves. It’s very helpful when dealing with all kinds of anxious feelings 😖😵‍💫

If you are stressed, insecure, fearful about the upcoming months and years lemon balm tea by @traditionalmedicinals and lemon balm supplement by @vimergy are a great way to ease those feelings. You can also grow lemon balm at home and steep the leaves for tea or use them in a salad 🌱

We just went through a hand, foot, mouth disease at my house…

Ufff… it was rough! 😅

But… both kids recovered within about 24h and we are back to enjoying the end of summer🦸🏼‍♀️ ☀️🌊

But this 🦠 got me thinking… How would I be able to help my kids recover if I was dealing with symptoms and chronic disease myself like many mothers do?

Airlines got it right. When a plane loses cabin pressure you have to put your oxygen mask on before you put it on your kid. You have to take care of yourself first to be able to be there for your family. There is no shame in pouring into your own cup before you can pour in everyone else’s.

We are heading into fall 🍂which means more sickness is to be expected. Especially this fall as our immune systems are weak from the pandemic.

☀️😎🏖SUN EXPOSTURE ☀️😎🏖

We’ve been taught to be afraid of the sun. To put layers of toxic sunscreen on our skin so we don’t get cancer.

The truth about skin cancer is that it’s caused by a combination of toxins (often found in suntan lotions) and pathogens in our bodies.

I know, pretty mind blowing 🤯

Sun, on the other hand, is amazing for our bodies and soul. It helps us detox, heals us, makes us happy and has a number of other functions not yet talked about.

So this summer:

☀️Start small. Get your skin used to the sun. Expose it just a few min at a time to build up a layer and to not get burned. Build up your skin’s tolerance slowly, even if it’s only 5 min at a time

☀️stay in shade during the highest sun. Best time to build up tolerance is in the morning when the sun is not too strong yet

☀️avoid getting burned by layering up loose fitting clothes

☀️for a long term exposure (for example at the beach) use gentle and all natural sunscreen
