I have been certified through .hair to provide natural, low-maintenance, customizable hair-replacements. Whether you are looking for coverage for singular, thinning areas or full coverage, I’ve got ya covered (get it?) 😉

These hair-replacements can be created for short to long-haired folks, and everybody in-between!

I’m stoked to provide this new service and to add this to the toolbox of Identity Affirming Hair.

⚡️Can Short Hair be Low-Maintenance?⚡️

Heck yeah! It’s a myth that short hair has to be constantly maintained and can’t continue to look good as it grows out between visits. Let’s get into it a little bit.

It has been engrained in me that what makes a decent barber is how a haircut grows in, not just when a client leaves the chair. I’ve learned (and still learning) a variety of techniques that can help a haircut grow in smoothly and maintain shape over weeks.

Now, I don’t want to work myself out of a job by any means, BUT I do want to give you a cut that will last. Some folks have reservations about having short hair because it’s believed they’ll have to come back every two weeks to three weeks to maintain their cut. The grow out of a haircut is just as important as how it looks when you leave the studio. I want to make sure that you feel as good in your cut in 4 to 6 weeks as you do when you walk out the door.

(Now, I do have clients that prefer to feel fresh every three weeks and I 100% support that too).

Spoiler: product isn’t a requirement for a decent haircut. Product is there to enhance the features of a haircut, not make the haircut. Trust me—you can have texture and volume without having to glob on products.

Overall, it is up to the client how often they wanna come in. Some clients prefer to come in every few weeks because when hair begins to grow over their ears—it drives them bonkers. Some clients like to come in every 8 to 10 weeks and are still able to style their hair how they like. Bottom line is—short hair is able to be low-maintenance, so if you’re worried about the upkeep, know that you have options for a cut that is more low-maintenance.

I am here to give you the haircut you want. If there is something you’re not sure about during your haircut, say somethin’. You won’t hurt my feelings.
