Adapted from The Ecology of Care: Medicine, Agriculture, Money, and the Quiet Power of Human and Microbial Communities by

Plants, microorganisms, insects, and animals are constantly working to regenerate vibrant, productive landscapes. In places where humans have let other species lead the way, their “biological work” is already accomplishing many of the tasks we haven’t figured out how to do for ourselves:

💦Providing clean drinking water to address global water shortages
🌲Rebuilding fertile, productive soils
🐝Attracting pollinators and soil-building insects like earthworms and dung beetles
🍎Eliminating the need for chemical interventions in agriculture
🥘Increasing local food security
🍠Providing a wide variety of nutrient-dense foods with more vitamins and minerals, without pesticides or antibiotic residues
🌊Decreasing agricultural runoff into rivers, lakes, and oceans
😁Preventing human conflicts over resources
🍄Providing the conditions that support biologically diverse plant, animal, microbial, and fungal life
🌍Reducing the impact of climate change by:
🌧Creating stable soils that won’t get washed away in floods
🌱Keeping moisture in soils and vegetation to prevent drought and wildfires
🌊Keeping water cycling in local landscapes rather than contributing to ocean rise
🌦Cooling the surrounding landscape and stabilizing the weather patterns through transpiration
🔥Reducing wildfire risks
🌻Taking CO2 from the atmosphere, and turning it into an essential workforce that knows how to do all the above.

AMINO ACID BENEFITS FOR PLANTS:
🌱
Increase systemic resistance & resistance to abiotic and biotic stress.
Protein synthesis.
Increase chlorophyll production.
Regulate stomatal opening Chelates minerals nutrients and other organic compounds.
Helps pollination and fruit set development.
Increase soil microbial activity.🦠🦠
🌱
Glycine and glutamic amino acids are used in the synthesis of chlorophyll thus Applications of amino acids can increase the content of chlorophyll increasing photosynthetic activity
🌱
Amino acids can chelate minerals and nutrients and other organic compounds making them bioavailable.
🌱
Amino acids are precursors to many Hormones and plant growth regulator (PGR's) such as auxin, cytokinin, gibberellin. Methionine is a precursor of ethylene, tryptophan is a precursor of auxin, Arginine induces the formation of flowering hormones.
🌱
When applied to soil amino acids will increase populations and diversity soil microorgaisms. Increased populations and diversity can help improve mineralization and nutrient mobilization and improve overall soil health and fertility. The balance of soil microbiology is one key to improving the quality of the soil.
🌱
Feeding available amino acids allows the plant to dedicate its energy into producing other chemical compounds rather than having to bio-synthesize these amino acids themselves which expends energy and slows plant metabolism.

Some information on well water and it's geology and mineral profile, thanks to Joanna of
With well water, routine water testing is recommended in order to avoid nutrient issues. Find out about our water testing by giving us a call at the lab, or going to imperialanalytics.com
