Our Drone class has been studing on how to use the drone to create a 3D model of the area. They planned and executed their automous flight focusing on Arab's new Rec Center being built. We have learned alot about the process and learning how to make our models better. I think they did a pretty good job for their first try.

Today, we had Gavin Putlovis visit our JROTC classes. Gavin was a 2018 graduate of Arab High School and a 2022 graduate from Auburn University in Mechanical Engineering. He spent the day talking with the cadets, explaining how the lessons learned in JROTC has made him successful in his field of work.

Mr Putlovis: "Have a bias towards action. Even through failure, you are learning."

Cadets spent their Saturday giving back to the ones who are sometimes forgotten. They planned and executed "Operation Heart Warming"; an activity where the cadets provide cards and flowers to the residents and conduct area beautification around the nursing home, Diversicare of Arab. The cadets raised the money necessary for all activities and ensured all resident felt loved and appreciated.

Great Job Cadets

Today was FORGE Day at the high school; an hour to allow students to catch up on test/work, hold club meetings, or allow teachers focus on things they would like to teach. We chose to teach our students how to change a tire. We begin the class discussing all the information found on the tire and what all the numbers mean. Then we moved out and began teaching how to properly change the tire. We had a good group and a great discussion.
