Compassion Coffee

Meet Justin McNeal, the Executive Director of Begin Anew ! Earlier this year, we reached out to him because of his knowledge and background in building training programs. We quickly knew that he was the perfect fit for us, and he has been working hard the last few months to build our Grounds For Growth Training Program!

We’re so thankful for him, and the relationship we have with Begin Anew! They do a lot of work in the recovery space, their team is absolutely amazing, and we encourage you to spend time learning about them!

We believe in the power of community — and right now, our community has a chance to do something meaningful!

Family Promise In Anoka County is opening a Guest House in C**n Rapids that will provide overnight shelter for 8 families, creating a permanent, dignified solution to family homelessness in Anoka County.

As a practical way to show compassion, we're hosting a supply drive for their most-needed items. The guest house opens in July, and we'd love your support stocking their shelves!

Now through June 27, bring any of the following to the coffeehouse:

✅ Laundry detergent
✅ Full-size body wash
✅ 40-gallon trash bags
✅ Bathroom sink hand soap (refillable containers)

In October 2024, we opened our doors with one vision — to empower people affected by homelessness. Almost two years later, we're still blown away by your support. Truly, thank you. 💛

Tomorrow night is our gala, and it's an especially meaningful one. We're excited to officially introduce Grounds for Growth — a dream we've held since day one.

Grounds for Growth is a 12-week workforce training program built for our team members affected by homelessness — combining hands-on barista training with life skills and real work experience across three phases:

🌱 Foundation — Building self-awareness, healthy rhythms, and consistency
📈 Growth — Communication, financial literacy, leadership, and work habits
🎯 Integration — Job readiness, daily stability, and a vision for the future

Together, these phases create a holistic pathway — developing not just job skills, but the character, habits, and confidence needed for long-term success.
