Welcome to NOVA Massage! Students require practice hours and frequently hold clinics for the public to receive discounted massages! Check back often for details!
This free clinic is intended to give massage students in their 2nd semester some practice with running an actual business, and working with back to back clients. We try to plan these clinics so they are convenient for the students, most of whom have full time jobs and other family obligations. Please be patient with us as we post updates. PLEASE understand we don't monitor this page on a daily basis and messages sent to this page will get an answer, but not likely in the same day.

Students in the Massage Therapy Program at Northern Virginia Community College host clinics open to the public so they can hone their skills with real, hands-on practice on a variety of body types. Under the supervision of a licensed massage therapist and instructor, the clinic is hosted by students in their 2nd semester of school, after they have learned bone and muscle anatomy, and are currently studying the physiology of massage. They will use a combination of Swedish and Deep Tissue techniques.
Clinic Policies:
Please make sure you cancel with at least 48 hours notice or we will not allow you to book at future clinics during the current or immediately following semester. The only exception to this rule is an illness or emergency provided you contact me as soon as possible before your massage so I can attempt to fill your spot. [email protected]
Please note: the students are still in their 2nd semester and will not be allowed to work on minors.
Please do not wear perfume or smoke ci******es directly before your appointment.
If you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment we will give your spot away to someone on the waiting list.
When booking massages, please keep in mind that the point of this clinic is to give the students as many different bodies to work on as possible. Please only book 2 appointments at a time. If there are openings after your second booking, feel free to book again.
Clinic supervisor will monitor this and will give your spots to new clients if necessary.

Who wants massage students to do free massages at an event from end of Jan through end of April?
I have eleven students registered for my Spring internship course and I am getting the schedule ready for them to vote on events during our first class on January 12th.
These need to be table-only events (not chair massage) so the event needs to have enough space for at last 5 massage tables, and up to 11 tables if all students can make that event.
This can be athletic events, staff-appreciation events, special population events (elderly or otherly abled), but we can NOT allow the students to work on those under the age of 18.
Events MUST be in Virginia.
PLEASE EMAIL me at [email protected] (because Facebook is not user-friendly for searching) your event, dates, times, website, and locations so that it can go on the list for voting.
I will contact you back via email on January 13th to let you know whether or not we are able to participate.
THANKS!
And yes, please feel free to share this with friends who are in the event-planning business.

Food for thought:
"It is so rewarding to have a client get up from the massage table after their treatment and tell you that their neck, back pain or head ache is gone or greatly relieved, or for an athlete to report back to you that they have improved their running time, increased their deadlift or swam a new PB in the 400m freestyle as a result of the massage treatments you have been giving them.
Massage is a skill you will never lose, whether you chose to treat 3-4 friends and/or family members a week or have a busy practice with 30 or more clients a week. It is a profession where you can continue to practice and grow, even in advanced years."
