HE HAS A COUPLE OF NEPHEWS THAT I BELIEVE ARE STIL LIVING IN ANDREWS, REID AND DAVID WILSON. MAYBE THEY KNOW HIS PHONE NUMBER AND/OR ADDRESS. ANYWAY, IF YOU CAN INFORM ME OF HOW I CAN CONTACT HIM OR YOU CAN GIVE HIM MY PHONE NUMBER WHICH IS 843 553 6333. I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT. YOU CAN HNVE MY NUMBER AND TELL HIM THAT HIS GRANDAUGHTER, AMANDA HARDIN IS VERY CONCERNED ABOUT HIM. THANK YOU
He had tools on Facebook (harley swap & shop keith thompson) Januari 16th and 31th.
I responded to him that I wanted to buy (some and maybe all) tools from him.
We agreed on a price for a selection of the tools and I paid him $1000.- by using PayPal.
He said shipping would be $400.- an he would like me to pay using PayPal 'family and friends' so he would get the money directly and didn't have to wait for PayPal to clear the payment.
He needed the money to get acces to the storage locker wherein the tools were.
After weeks of promises and excuses, it became clesr that he wasn't going to send any tools.
I failed a claim at PayPal and got my $1000.- back.
Wrote to Mr. Thompson that I would like the $400.- refunded as he didn't need them to ship the tools.
Next answer I got was from 'his girlfriend'telling me Keith Thompson was in a terrible accident and in a coma!!!
A few days later Keith Thompson contacted me and told me he would sent someone to the bank to transfer my money back.
This was March 30th. never had anything refunded till now.
I'm just so frustrated, Itrusted the guy
Maybe someone can talk to him?
I can file a report at the dutch police department for internetfraude, but I would rather he just paid back the money and never did such thing again.
Thanks for reading and I wish you all a nice day,
Toine

On a positive note, a group of homeschooled students from Classical Conversations of Andrews delivered gifts to town police officers.
The students gifted Andrews officers with various care items that can be kept in a patrol car, such as hand sanitizer and other supplies.
The students also provided officers with snacks to help keep up their energy during extended investigations that don’t allow for much of a break to eat.
Additionally, APD Officer Selby and her K-9 Kiera demonstrated a narcotics find to the students.
Andrews Police Department is extremely thankful for the gifts. Merry Christmas to you all and to all a safe night!

Local Woman Charged With Trafficking Morphine
A state laboratory test has confirmed that a jar found in a vehicle earlier this year contained 68 grams of morphine. As a result, Andrews Police arrested Francisca Ann Rodriguez Thursday afternoon and charged her with trafficking o***m.
Rodriguez, a 33-year-old town resident, was previously charged with possession of methamphetamine and related drug offenses after police encountered her during an investigation at Fairview Mobile Home Park in April.
During that investigation, an officer found a brown glass jar labeled "Morphine Sulfate" containing a powdery substance. A state lab test of the powdery substance confirmed it to be morphine, resulting in new warrants being issued for Rodriguez’s arrest.
Rodriguez is being held in Cherokee County Detention Center on a $500,000 secured bond.
The investigation remains ongoing and additional arrests are probable.

The Andrews Police Department is seeking the publics assistance in identifying the following person of interest pictured below related to breaking, entering and larceny from a motor vehicle.

We are proud to announce that K-9 “Kiera” received her North American Police Working Dog Association “NAPWDA” Certification today. Officer Megan Selby and Kiera are out working the streets of Andrews this evening!

The Town of Andrews Police Department is proud to announce that we have successfully been awarded a grant provided by the NCDOT Bicycle Helmet Initiative. This grant provides 75 bicycle helmets, ranging in sizes from toddler to adult, free of charge to anyone needing them. We plan have these available Saturday, June, 25th, 2022 at the Andrews Rec Park. If you or someone needs one before then, please contact us at (828) 321-5111, or stop by Police Department during normal business hours. We still have quite a few from the last time we received this grant.
While most of us grew up not wearing bicycle helmets, and somehow miraculously still survived, the NCDOT would like to share a few statistics:
- On average, 20 bicyclists are killed each year in North Carolina. One in six is under 16 years old.
- Children 5 to 14 years old visit emergency rooms for bicycle-related injuries more that any other sport or recreational activity.
- Typically, less than 50% of children wear bicycle helmets. Statistics show that wearing a helmet can reduce the risk of severe brain injury by 88%.
You can find more information regarding bicycle safety at:

The Andrews Police Department recently acquired a K-9 that will be used to locate illegal drugs within area buildings, vehicles and parcels.
After K-9 Kiera — a 4-year-old Belgian Malinois — completes narcotics training, she and her handler Officer Megan Selby will undergo a series of evaluations to become certified in narcotics detection pursuant to national K-9 certification standards.
“We’re looking forward to Kiera and Megan being certified to deter the illicit sales of narcotics and bring back health and safety to the Town of Andrews,” Police Chief Rocky Burrell said.
The department expects Kiera to be active on the streets of Andrews in the near future.

Allow extra drive time this morning. Icy conditions, several vehicle crashes reported in our area.
