Alaska Professional Inspection
If you can get there, so can I (probably).
- Inspecting homes, cabins, and anything else that keeps moose out.
- If it has a roof (or is supposed to), I’ll inspect it.
- Fly-in, boat-in, snowmachine-in inspections.

Things that make you stop and look twice 🤔
This all-weather wood foundation wall on this cabin was bowing inward. After getting into the crawl space, it became clear why....vents had been cut directly into the wall framing, compromising its ability to handle both vertical loads and lateral soil pressure. If you're thinking of framing vents this way - don't.
Before thermal cameras, inspectors had to walk around barefoot to feel if the in-floor heat was working 👣😜
Thermal cameras aren’t just for finding leaks and cold spots.
They also let you see in-floor heat doing its thing🔥
Moose on a roof?? 🫎
How many issues can you spot in one video?
Don’t forget to do a rock test in the crawl space 😬

New construction woes 🫠
If you try to book an inspection online and don’t see any availability, don’t worry—the scheduler is working. Im currently 99% fully booked all the way through next weekend, and after that I’ll be headed to Japan and Korea for a couple of weeks 🇯🇵 🇰🇷
If something opens up from a cancellation, it’ll show on the schedule, or you can reach out directly and I’ll try my best to squeeze something in.
This code has been around for more than a decade… and yet it is an item that is overlooked, more often than not - even on brand new construction.

Alligator 🐊 on the roof in Alaska?
Never worry about spring thaw again with this simple trick.
It’s worth mentioning that the tenant is in his 80s, walks with a limp and still keeps all that snow off of the house.
