I love the fall colors and the incredible reflections in Alaska. Jody and Jasper were enjoying the quiet and calm beauty of the lake on a gorgeous Alaskan afternoon.

Raven's are so smart! Jody and I sat and watched as this Raven got an old, flattened popcorn container and used it as a sled! It would slide down this cement slab on the popcorn container then once at the bottom would grab the container in its mouth and hop back up to the top and slide down again. We watched this go on for about 15 minutes until another Raven flew in, took the container away from the first Raven, squawked at it a bit and then flew off with the popcorn container. What a party pooper the second Raven was.

There are always so many aspects to wildlife, take these two Arctic Terns. We watched as they sat squawking at each other and then suddenly one of them jumps up on the other ones back as though it needed to get up higher to see something. And no, it's not what some of you might be thinking as this occurred later in the summer after the Tern chicks were already born, lol...

Normally I don't post too many wildlife photos when they are by fences; but we laughed a bit when I got these photos of a cow, calf and bull moose during the rut out by the Anchorage Airport. The bull was following the cow around hoping to "woo" her. At one point he finally turned around and gave me a look like "Come on lady! You're cramping my style here!"

Seeing Coyotes are always such a treat, in early spring we saw an adult Coyote and later in the summer we saw a juvenile.

It's always such a treat seeing the baby Moose calves in the spring. This little guy was very adventurous and sassy, of course he knew that Mama Moose was close by and watching out for him.

It's always so much fun seeing and hearing the Belted King Fishers, they have a very distinctive call.

We were out early one day recently; enjoying a cold and beautifully clear blue morning. We turned a corner and there was this Bull Moose eating his breakfast with the sun rising behind him.

As a photographer I've always wondered when it was a sign that an animal or in this case water fowl are basically giving you "the finger." This fall when we were driving by Lake Hood, we saw a family of Swans, which we don't often see in Lake Hood, and I grabbed my camera to try to get a great photo of them all swimming... BUT apparently they had passed their limit with the paparazzi and immediately all went into feeding mode, which is butts up, heads down, and pretty much stayed that way until we finally left, lol...

I will be posting several of photos here and on my photography page from this past summer, fall and early winter. I have had many friends and family asking why I haven't posted very much this past year. I have been trying to learn ways to deal with my Rheumatoid Arthritis and my photography. Long story short, unfortunately some days it hurts to hold my camera for even short periods of time and it's not always easy with wildlife to use a tripod, since these pesky but amazing animals seem to want to be on the move often, lol...

Thank you for all your support and encouragement. I love photography and we will continue enjoying photography adventures and sharing photos.

Often times when I post my wildlife photography I get people asking how close I actully am to the animals. This black bear photo I took a couple of weeks ago and today when we drove by the same area, I took a photo with my iPhone to show the actual distance where I was when I took the bear photo.

I love wildlife photography and respect wildlife which means not crowding wild animals, so most of my photos are taken with my sweet zoom lens. Because of my Epilepsy and Rheumatoid Arthritis 90% of my photos are taken from our truck as it gives me a higher vantage point plus less chance of falling or tripping over foliage. Which would be a bit embarrassing. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️😂💙💛

I always love seeing the Spruce Grouse, they are so fun to watch and listen to. This photo was from Fall 2024 in Arctic Valley.
