β οΈ Moose Calving Season β οΈ
Moose calving season is upon us. Itβs a beautiful time of year and you might have been lucky enough to witness a newborn. But itβs also one of the most dangerous times of the year for wildlife encounters.
There have been many reports of protective and aggravated moose charging and attacking people on trails in Kincaid and Hillside in the last week.
Stay alert for areas reported to have protective cows, give them space.

Our hearts go out to the the family who have suffered the tragedy at JBER yesterday.
State Trooper officials have released information that a group of three soldiers stumbled across a brown bear den while mapping out a training site. One soldier was knocked down and one attacked by the sow. The soldier tragically later died of the injuries.
The incident occurred around midday on Tuesday May 10 in a location west of the Anchorage Regional Landfill.
