Small Amissville, Virginia farm offering pasture raised poultry, eggs and honey.
Operating as usual
Hello! We were able to get in to look at our bees on the nice warm "spring teaser" day on Wednesday and were happy to discover that all of our hives made it through the winter! That means good things for honey production this year! We'll harvest the honey in July and have it ready for you all soon after! The bees are ready to get to work!🐝🌸
We hope everyone has thawed out from the cold this winter, we can see the light at the end of the road and we're ready for the spring! Over here at Double L we're getting ready! Our first chickens have arrived and we will have chicken (fresh or frozen) ready for you in 10 weeks! Let us know if you want your chicken fresh for the farmer's market starting the first Saturday in May and we'll be sure to hold it back for you. We look forward to seeing everyone again!
Hello all! Starting this Saturday there will be a winter Culpeper farmer's market (only in December) and we will be there! Unfortunately, we don't have any chicken right now (we will when the market starts up again in the spring). We do have some fun holiday items though. We will have mini jars of honey, beeswax candles, peppermint tea and honey gift buckets, bunches of fresh rosemary, and eggs. We would love to see you there!🌲
We would like to thank everyone who supported us in our first season as an official farm. We really enjoyed being a part of the Culpeper Farmers Market, even if it was only for a few weeks this year. We had so much success there that we sold out of chicken! Don't worry though... we are already preparing for the spring and are going to have plenty of products next year so that we can supply everyone with as much of our pasture raised chicken, wild flower honey, and farm fresh eggs, as they need. We're even hoping to expand our offerings! We'll keep you posted on that!
Thanks again and if you still need eggs or honey, let us know!
We will be at the Culpeper Farmers Market again this week. We hope to see you there! Chicken has been selling fast! Get yours soon!

We made some delicious fried chicken tenders this past weekend! Here's the recipe if you'd like to try it...
2lbs Double L chicken tenders🙂
2 cups buttermilk
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp poultry seasoning
2 tsp paprika
1/8 tsp white pepper
Pinch cayenne pepper
1 1/4 tsp salt
3 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
3 tsp paprika
1/8 tsp white pepper
Pinch cayenne pepper
Marinate the tenders in Marinade for 3 hours. After the 3 hours dredge tenders in flour mixture. Let rest on a cooling rack for 30 mins to allow coating to stick before frying. While tenders are resting heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil to 325 degrees. Once oil comes to temp fry tenders in batches for about 3 mins per side or until done. Don't over crowd your pan. Keep cooked tenders warm in the oven until you finish the rest then, enjoy with some honey mustard. Make it with 1 tbls Double L honey,🍯 1 tbls Dijon mustard, and 1 tsp yellow mustard.
We'll be out at The Lot in Culpeper again this Saturday come out and see us and if you make this let us know what you think!
We'll be back out at The Lot in Culpeper at 8 a.m. on Saturday again with our honey, pasture raised chicken, and eggs! Come out and see us and grab an awesome cup of coffee or tea from the O&A Coffee Car while you're there!
