Transition Amherst
http://www.transitionamherst.org/blog/ We are a group of folks from around Amherst, MA, who work together to build strong community and have fun.
We believe that our lives will be strongly affected by changing global and local economic, environmental and energy circumstances. We believe that we can work to prepare for these changes!
PERENNIAL MEDICINAL HERB GARDEN
TO SHARE IN AMHERST
Would you like to grow your own medicinal herbs but do not have space? I have a garden with peppermint, Chocolate mint, Echinacea, angelica, marshmallow, yarrow, chamomile, lemon balm, Skullcap, tulsi, thyme, and many more⦠I am looking for someone interested in caring for, and enjoying my perennial herb garden at Amethyst Farm in Amherst. I have a hand injury that prevents me from caring for it properly this season, and I will be out of town for several weeks this summer. All I ask is for 1/4 of the harvest, and for the garden to be kept w**d free. If you are interested please email me at [email protected]

Hi Everyone,
A recent message by All Thing Local reminds all of us that it takes a community to keep the coop model going. They have paid over $360,000 to our local farmers this last year, but they need more membership support to continue in business. So please RENEW your membership, and come SHOP at the store.

We are deeply saddened by news of the death of Dorie Goldman. Dorie was the embodiment of sustainable community. Her business Backyard Bakery was as gentle on the earth as Dorie herself. She volunteered and was a producer member of All Things Local, and joined us for many Transition Amherst meetings a few years back. She was committed to using her bike as transportation not just for herself, but for her business, and was involved in the town efforts to improve bike safety. She was also a wonderful singer and a great neighbor. She will be deeply missed.
