Feb. 8, 1986: Iowa State ran its Hilton Coliseum winning streak to 14 in a row with a 73-70 upset of #5 Oklahoma. Jeff Grayer's 21 points paced the Cyclones. Elmer Robinson blocked a breakaway layup with under a minute to play, and it turned into a Grayer basket on the other end, giving ISU a lead it would not relinquish. [Raycom]

Feb. 22, 1993: Justus Thigpen's steal and free throw with three seconds remaining cemented Iowa State's 75-71 upset of No. 7 Kansas in Hilton Coliseum. With the victory, the Cyclones moved to 15-0 at home for the 1992-93 campaign, and Johnny Orr picked up his 200th win as Iowa State head coach. Thigpen led all scorers with 17 points. [ESPN]

Feb. 5, 2005: Iowa State snapped a 28-game road conference losing streak with a 92-80 overtime upset of No. 20 Texas in Austin. ISU led by 13 in the first half, but had to claw back from an eight-point deficit with 5:00 to go in regulation to force overtime. Tasheed Carr scored 13 of his team-high 22 points in the extra frame. Curtis Stinson (17 points) and Will Blalock (15 points) were among six Cyclones who scored in double figures. [ESPN+/Big 12]

Jan. 14, 2004: Anne O'Neil's 17-foot jumper with 0.2 seconds to play lifted Iowa State past No. 2 Texas Tech, 64-63, in Hilton Coliseum. The Cyclones rallied from a 10-point second-half deficit on the backs of O'Neil (20 points) and Katie Robinette (18 points).

March 1, 2000: Iowa State used an 11-0 run late in the second half to hold off Texas Tech, 87-79, in Lubbock. With the win, the Cyclones clinched at least a share of their first conference title since 1945. Marcus Fizer led the way with 35 points. Stevie Johnson added a double-double (19 points, 12 rebounds). Mike Nurse (13) and Jamaal Tinsley (10) also scored in double figures for ISU. [CTN]

Feb. 17, 1988 -- Iowa State snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 102-89 win over #15 Missouri at Hilton Coliseum. Lafester Rhodes poured in 34 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and dished out five assists. Jeff Grayer and Elmer Robinson added 27 and 18 points, respectively. [ESPN]

In the first-ever meeting between the two schools, the #11 Cyclones claimed a 71-57 win in College Station on Feb. 1, 1997. Kelvin Cato (18 pts, 10 reb) and Kenny Pratt (17 pts, 12 reb) recorded double-doubles. Cato also blocked five shots, breaking his own school record for blocks in a season. [CTN]

Friday Flashback, Ep. 38: Iowa State trailed 17-6 after three quarters, but scored three fourth-quarter touchdowns to upset No. 18 Kansas State, 27-23, in Ames on Nov. 6, 1993. The game also featured a streaker, and an offensive lineman with a pass reception.
