The new Spartan Fire Engine to be housed at station 1 is approaching its delivery date. Here is a short video of one of the many new safety features. With the recent increase of fire apparatus and personnel being struck or having close calls while working a vehicle accident. Any additional equipment to keep our firefighters safe is worth every penny. Here we have led strips that come on when the door is open to alert traffic. Video doesn’t give the detail of how bright these lights really are. More to come!
The county’s five Fire Stations will be open today, Sunday, February 14 at 8 AM for anyone needing to recharge their phones or other battery powered devices. Please bring your own chargers. The volunteer firefighters will be staffing the stations until at least noon.

Attention truck pull fans!!!!!!! The Amelia VFD regrets to inform you that we will no longer be a part of the truck pulls in Amelia. Due to manpower participation the truck pulls became to big for what we can provide. However; we ask that you still support ACE Promotions who will be taking over the events. Click on their name and like their page. They have two pulls on the schedule this year. Many who helped bring the pulls together will transition to their team. We love our community and we encourage everyone to come together and help their great causes just as you have helped support ours over the past 10 years. God bless and stay safe!
Please consider supporting the Amelia Clothes Cottage. Proceeds from the Clothes Cottage benefit the Amelia Fire Auxiliary, and in turn, help Amelia VFD.

We realized that the growing trend of LipSync video challenges was getting old and tired. Some were funny, some were serious, some shed light on current issues.
Amelia Co Sheriff's Office, Amelia Emergency Squad, Inc., Amelia VFD, Amelia County Public Schools, Amelia Academy, and many community members decided to produce our Suicide Awareness Video, not because we were challenged by other agencies, but because we challenged ourselves, to create a video that sheds light in darkness; to reach out and let folks know that we are serious when we say you are not alone; to remind everyone that you never know what someone is going through, and just a simple gesture of kindness can change someone's day, or possibly save their life.
If you, or someone you know is dealing with thoughts of Suicide, reach out, because you are never alone, no matter how alone you may feel.
