Team Amelia: Good morning! This is Amelia County Public Schools calling with a severe weather update for Friday, May 6, 2022. Due to an enhanced risk of severe weather starting at 3:00 P.M., Amelia County Public Schools will have an early dismissal. We want to make sure that students are home safe before the severe weather begins. ACHS will dismiss at 1:20 P.M. ACMS will dismiss at 1:30 P.M. ACES will dismiss at 1:40 P.M. All 12 month employees may leave once all students have arrived home and buses are clear. Please stay safe and have a wonderful weekend!

Team Amelia: We are providing clarification regarding a question asked by Mr. Neller during the April School Board meeting.
In the article on the school board meeting, published in last week's Amelia Bulletin Monitor, on pg 13 at the top of column 4, the question Mr. Neller asked was, βWhat percentage of the school budget was for personnel?β The answer provided by Mrs. Bullock, Director of Finance, was βmore than 80%β, not 8%.
Team Amelia: This evening the Amelia County School Board approved rhe appointment of Dr. Jennifer Ramey as the new principal of Amelia County Middle School. Dr. Ramey received her Bachelorβs Degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Special Education from Longwood University and she earned her Masterβs in Special Education from Longwood University. In addition, she earned her Educational Doctorate degree from Liberty University. Dr. Ramey has previously served as a Special Education Teacher and as the Coordinator of Special Education at Amelia County High School. She spent two years at Amelia County Elementary School as the Assistant Principal, and she has served as the Assistant Principal at Amelia County High School for the past three years. We hope you will join us in welcoming Dr. Ramey to her new role!
