I took advantage of the early morning clouds to spend some time connecting with my sweet mare, Ali, and her three month old baby. Riding together in the arena while he played and frolicked around us was such a special experience and one I’ll never forget. There’s something pretty incredible about being welcomed into the bond between a mare and her baby.
One of my favorite back to school traditions.
This morning, I brought my two mini horses to Creekside Early Learning Center to help ease some of those first week of school nerves. Judging by the smiles when the kids saw the horses, I think our mission was accomplished!
I told the little ones that last year, our mini horse Stone came to visit with his mama. But this year, Stone is a little older and brave enough to come all by himself, just like so many of them are learning to do at school.
This is my third year participating in this special tradition, and it brings me so much joy every single time.

Lakeside Summer Stampede Rodeo. Amazing memories and TONS OF FUN!

Not only did we have a bronc rider, we also had 4 barrel racers at the rodeo: 4 young ladies that put their heart, soul, blood (literally one of them broke her thumb the day of the race), sweat and tears into their horses and their sport. All 4 incredibly dedicated, committed, and powerful. Let’s be honest, this sport isn’t glamorous. So even when you do all the things, it doesn’t mean you’ll get that great run.
But when you do all the things, AND you have a successful run, ITS MAGIC. Just look at their faces!!!!
They are my hero’s.
They inspire me every day.

Day 2 and Tyler got second place missing first place by only 1 point, bringing home $675. It’s interesting being back in the stands as a parent! It was exciting to say the least! Congratulations buddy! You made us all SO PROUD!

No rest today! 2 barrel racers and a bronc rider tonight and tomorrow night! Cheer them on if you’re here or from afar!
