I Am Blind. In a shelter!!!

“The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.” — Helen Keller

Helen Keller was a famous blind human. I am just a kitten.

I don’t know that I am blind. The humans say I may not even have eye balls in the sockets. I don’t really understand what that means. I only know what I can hear and feel.

And what I hear is scary.

I am living in an animal shelter. I am only a baby. I hear barking, crying, and fear all around me. Because I cannot see, I feel everything more deeply. I feel the sadness. I feel the loneliness. I feel the terror of the animals around me. Some of them will never leave.

The humans say I need help. They think my eyes may need to be sewn shut so I don’t develop a terrible infection. I don’t really know what “surgery” means. I don’t even know what “scared” means.

But a blind kitten sitting in a shelter should scare you. I hope it does and fast!!

They call me Ranch Dressing.

Angels wants to save me, but they are low on funds and desperately need fosters for kittens and cats. They already have a driver ready to come get me. All they need is your help. I need lots of donations because I need lots of medical help.

If you help me, I may never see the world with my eyes, but I will see it with my heart.

I will hear my own purr instead of shelter noise.

I will feel a human hold me close and tell me I am safe.

I will know what love feels like.

Please help me.

At Angels, we want to give Ranch Dressing the life she deserves. Can you imagine being blind and alone in a shelter? No kitten should have to face that.

The donate button goes directly to Ranch Dressing’s care. You can also donate with a credit card. Better yet, consider fostering. A foster home could change her entire world.

Please help us give this little girl the chance she deserves.

💔 HORRIFIC. ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC. 💔

Look at this baby’s face.

This tiny kitten is only 5 weeks old and has suffered a degloved lip—a painful injury where the tissue is literally torn away from the mouth.

Can you imagine the pain?

Trying to eat hurts.
Trying to nurse hurts.
Simply being a kitten hurts.

Her name is Croissant, and right now she desperately needs help.

How did this happen? We may never know. She knows!!!

A degloving injury can be caused by severe trauma such as being hit by a car, a fall, an animal attack, or another devastating accident. What we do know is that this baby did not deserve it.

Croissant arrived at the shelter with an injury that requires veterinary care, sutures, medication, and close monitoring to prevent infection. Without treatment, an injury like this can become much more serious.

She is only a baby.

A baby who should be chasing toys, pouncing on imaginary monsters, and falling asleep in someone’s lap. Instead, she is fighting through pain and relying on strangers to save her.

And that is where you come in.

It is kitten season, and the suffering seems endless. Tiny kittens are arriving every day needing medical care, food, foster homes, and love. The bills keep growing while donations continue to slow down.

Many people see a post like this and think, “Someone else will donate.”

The truth?

We need every single person who reads this to help if they can.

A few dollars may not seem like much, but when hundreds of compassionate people come together, lives are saved.

Croissant deserves that chance.

She deserves to heal.

She deserves to enjoy her food without pain.

She deserves to grow into a silly, mischievous kitten.

She deserves a forever family who will someday tell the story of how a tiny kitten with a broken mouth was given a second chance because complete strangers cared enough to help.

❤️ Please donate if you can.
❤️ Please share this post.
❤️ Please consider fostering.

You may notice that we don’t post many cats and kittens. That’s not because they don’t need help. It’s because we desperately need more foster homes.

Without fosters, we cannot save them. We are pulling so few because of no offers!!! Please!!!

Angels Rescue pays for supplies, and veterinary care. You provide the love, safety, and temporary home that gives these animals a chance to survive.

Have questions about fostering? Want to learn more before filling out an application?

Please call 770-835-5844 or email Angels Rescue to speak directly with one of our experienced fosters. Angels rescue. org We’d love to tell you what it means to be an Angel for an animal in need.

Please help us save Croissant.

Because five-week-old kittens should not have to suffer alone.

We know. It’s a tough job.

Someone has to sip cocktails, cuddle puppies, bid on amazing auction items, and play casino games for a good cause.

Might as well be you.

Crane is a 9-year-old pittie/terrier mix looking for a very special foster or forever home.

He’s housebroken, crate-trained, active, and fiercely loyal to the people he trusts. Crane loves routine, forms strong bonds, and enjoys spending time with his people and playing in the yard.

Crane does best with an experienced adopter who understands reactive dogs. He needs a calm, low-traffic home, a secure 6+ ft privacy fence, and an adults-only environment.
He may not be the easiest dog, but for the right person, Crane will be an incredibly devoted companion.

Please share to help Crane find the home he deserves!

Today, Angels Among Us Pet Rescue welcomed our 23,000th rescue since our founding in 2009*.

Twenty-three thousand dogs and cats.

That's a number we're incredibly proud of, but if we're being honest, it's also a little hard to celebrate. While 23,000 lives saved is an amazing milestone, it's impossible not to think about why organizations like ours are still needed. After all these years, the shelters are still full. The calls for help keep coming. The need hasn't gone away.

Our 23,000th rescue is Maizy Novella, a 9-year-old long-haired Dachshund who arrived at a shelter struggling to urinate. Shelter staff suspected bladder stones, and they were right. We rushed her to surgery, and the amount of stones removed from her tiny body was shocking. (We'll share a photo in the comments for those who are curious.)

While she was under anesthesia, Maizy also received a dental cleaning and several extractions. We can only imagine how much better she must be feeling tonight.

Maizy may be number 23,000, but she represents every animal who came before her and every animal who will need us in the future. She represents every foster who opened their home, every volunteer who gave their time, every adopter who said yes, every veterinarian who helped, and every donor who made it possible for us to keep saying yes.

If you'd like to help us celebrate this milestone, please consider making a donation through the Facebook donate button or on our website.

Give in honor of Maizy Novella. Give in honor of one of the many dogs or cats who has touched your heart over the years. Or give for the next one who will need us, because we know they're coming.
