Drawing Hands – Step by Step ✍🏻

Hands are alwaaays a pain to draw, and it’s often hard to know where to even begin! One of my favorite methods for tackling complex subjects more easily is to follow this process:

1• Start with a very basic silhouette, simplifying the contours and looking for the right proportions and angles. For hands, I always try to imagine a string stretched between the fingers — it helps me visualize the overall shape more clearly.
2• Move on to perspective: the idea is to go from 2D to 3D by adding simple volumes like cylinders or boxes to show direction and structure. This step is super helpful when you're dealing with strong foreshortening!
3• Finish with the final details: skin folds to add realism, nails, maybe some shading if needed… just enough to polish the drawing.
