They need help finding 9-year-old Elliot Barnes Jr., who has been reported missing. Barnes is described as a black male, 5’0”, 100 lbs. Barnes was last seen on July 1, 2025, in the area of Olive Street and 23rd Street.

This is currently an ongoing investigation.

🚨BREAKING CENLA UPDATE🚨 ExxonMobil has filed a lawsuit against the Allen Parish Police Jury. It all stems from efforts of police jurors to prevent CO₂ pipelines from being put in the ground without local government say. Several companies are looking at utilizing Carbon Capture Sequestration for various projects. That has a lot of Cenla and SWLA residents upset.

🔸️ Allen Parish Police Jurors passed an ordinance in May. The goal was to give the police jury a say in if companies could start injection wells in the parish.

🔸️ Officials tell me the goal was to have a local ordinance in place for when the state legislature passed a law giving local governments more authority. That never happened. Some lawmakers attempted to pass such laws, but they failed.

🔸️Now, ExxonMobil has filed a lawsuit for judicial relief saying the ordinance may violate state law and is redundant. Meaning they don’t need parish approval because state law only requires state approval.

🔸️ExxonMobil stated the ordinance jeopardizes projects that have been in the works for years, including carbon capture sequestration projects.

BIG UPGRADE🏫 Caroline Dormon Junior High in Woodworth is getting a much needed expansion. Voters passed a multi-million dollar bond in 2023. Now, they are seeing their tax dollars get to work. Construction has begun at the school.
