Some cats chase the spotlight. Beeâs Knees prefers the sunshine. No matter where the sun is streaming into her foster home, you can usually find Bee curled up in the warmest spot, soaking it all in. After everything sheâs been through, itâs hard to describe how full our hearts are to see her so relaxed, content, and growing more confident every day.
Beeâs Knees doesnât let life on three legs slow her down, unless itâs to stretch out in a ray of sunshine or enjoy a grooming session from one of her foster siblings before settling in for a well-earned nap. These days, her world is filled with cozy beds, feline friends, and the safety she always deserved.
When Bee first arrived in rescue, she was understandably unsure of the world around her. With time, patience, and the companionship of other cats, she has blossomed into a sweet young girl who looks to her feline friends for comfort and confidence. Watching her learn that she is safe, loved, and free to simply be a cat has been one of the most rewarding parts of her journey.
Beeâs Knees is patiently waiting for a forever home with a friendly adult kitty to call her own. She has truly thrived with the company of other cats and would love a feline friend to share her days with.
Please help us share Beeâs Knees and find the family sheâs been waiting for. If you think you might be the perfect match, submit an adoption application on our website today. Her sunny spot is out there somewhere. We just need to help her find it. đâïž

What must have gone through the mind of a tiny kitten struggling to survive alone? We may never know exactly what Soliloquy has endured, but her resilience tells us one thing for certain. She hasnât stopped believing that better days are ahead.
Last week, as our volunteer arrived at a local shelter just before closing time to answer a plea for a mama cat and babies, staff asked if she could also help a single kitten whose time was running out. While your parents probably told you not to pick up hitchhikers, that rule doesnât apply to kittens, and Casey couldnât say no.
At just 5 weeks old, Soliloquy was less than half the size she should have been, covered in sores and battling severe skin infections. Fortunately, she landed in the expert care of Casey, a neonatal medical miracle worker, and has spent the last week gaining weight, healing, and letting her personality shine.
We remain concerned about serious infections affecting both front paws, including significant swelling in one toe that may involve deeper structures. Dr. Werden generously came in on her day off to examine her, samples have been sent for culture testing, and Soliloquy has started additional treatment while we await answers.
Just one week ago, her future was uncertain. Today, she is safe, loved, and surrounded by people determined to help her heal. Even Nurse Clara Bow keeps watch from outside the incubator, patiently waiting for her patient to be ready for an endless supply of kisses.
Kittens like Soliloquy remind us why spay/neuter and TNR matter. Most kittens born outdoors never get this chance and unfortunately 75% will die before 6 months of age without human intervention .
Please send Soliloquy lots of love on her healing journey. đ©¶

Astronomers have spent decades searching the universe for rare cosmic events. Imagine their surprise when they discovered a Clustering of Tiny Voids right here on Earth. Their gravitational pull is remarkably powerful. Current research indicates the best course of action is adopting one. Additional voids may be required. đ€

You know that feeling when you survived the work week, checked everything off your to-do list, and itâs finally time to crash on the couch for an epic Sunday afternoon nap? Yeah, thatâs a Mic Drop.
This handsome brown tabby has perfected the art of balancing productivity and relaxation. One minute heâs making sure you stay on task by supervising your work from the nearest chair, and the next heâs curled up beside you for a well-earned snooze. Cozy blankets, sunny spots, laps, and quality time with his people are all at the top of his priority list.
Mic Dropâs story started in a Northeast DC colony, where he was cared for by a kind community member who looked out for him and made sure he was safe. But the people who loved him knew this social, affectionate boy deserved even more than life outdoors could offer. They knew there was a family out there waiting to adore him for the special cat he is.
And trust us, he is special. Mic Drop never seems to have met a stranger. He greets everyone like an old friend, loves attention, and is always ready to insert himself into whatever youâre doing. His name is Mic Drop for a reason, too. This chatty guy loves to sing little songs to his people and always has something important to say.
At just 1.5 years old, Mic Drop has all the playful, silly energy you could want in a young cat, paired with the confidence and affection that make him feel like an old soul. He would likely do well with another friendly cat and is ready to bring laughter, companionship, and a soundtrack of adorable tabby commentary to his future home.
Mic Drop is currently hanging out with our friends at Pet Supplies Plus, hoping to serenade the forever family heâs been waiting for. Come meet him and see why this sweet boy is impossible not to love. đ€đ€

Something that has become central to our mission is the belief that miracles can happen. Long ago, one of our vets told us, âSometimes you just have to give time for the miracle to happen,â and he was exactly right. Time and proper care can change everything. For Piggly Wiggly, two days of hospitalization saved her life.
Three weeks ago, we were devastated as Piggly Wiggly continued to decline despite supportive care. Her foster was doing everything possible to help her feel better and eat, but our precious PW began to resist, and it became clear she needed critical care. While her kidney disease may have progressed, she was also battling an acute infection her body might be too weak to overcome. We knew a few days in the hospital and a $4,000 bill could save her life, so she stayed at the ER while we hoped for the best.
Since returning home, Piggly completed an extended course of antibiotics, her appetite returned, and she settled back into the routine she loves with foster mom Kiri. We have been incredibly relieved to watch this senior lady make such a remarkable turnaround.
How do we manage emergencies like this? We follow our hearts, listen to what our cats are telling us, and rely on this community to believe alongside us. Although we raised very little for Piggly Wiggly and Tai, who was hospitalized the same day for emergency surgery, we were still able to provide the care they deserved because of the support you have always so willingly given.
We know times are hard, and we never like asking for help. But if youâre able to donate, youâll help us recover last monthâs medical expenses and ensure weâre ready for the next kitty who needs us.
Because miracles can happen. Sometimes they just need a little time. đ©¶

Looks like the Country Kittens playlist is down to its final duet.
As sibling after sibling packed their bags for forever and headed off on their next chapter, Darrius and Ella stayed behind. Somewhere between the quieter house, extra cuddle time with their foster family, and countless zoomies together, these two decided they were better as a band than solo artists. Now theyâre looking for a forever home where they can keep the music going as a bonded pair.
Maybe itâs true that the best things come to those who wait, because this fluffy brother-sister duo is worth every encore. Darrius and Ella are playful, curious, and confident little stars who approach every day with tail-high enthusiasm. Feather wands, cardboard boxes, toy mice, cat trees, sunny windowsills⊠if itâs in the house, theyâre convinced it was added to their rider. When theyâre not racing through the halls like theyâre headlining a sold-out arena tour, youâll find them curled up together in a fluffy pile for a well-earned intermission.
Theyâve never met a person they didnât want to love, a dog they couldnât charm, or a wet food meal they couldnât announce to the entire neighborhood with their signature chorus of chomps, slurps, and purrs.
Born outdoors during the cold of winter, Darrius and Ella have blossomed into happy, affectionate kittens who make every room brighter just by walking into it. Their siblings may have already found their forever homes, but we have a feeling the grand finale is still ahead for these two.
All they need now is someone ready to say yes to the sweetest country love song in town. đ€đ€

Some stories stay with you forever, and the Bird Babies are one of them.
This spring, we fought alongside Chickadee and her brothers through one heartbreaking loss after another. Despite exhausting every effort possible, we devastatingly said goodbye to her sweet brothers far too soon. Their loss will always leave an ache in our hearts.
Chickadee became our reminder that hope is worth holding onto. As her health strengthened, her spirit seemed to shine brighter every day. Watching her grow and thrive felt like the sun breaking through the clouds. Sometimes it feels as though she carries a little piece of her brothers with her, living boldly and joyfully on behalf of them all. We will never forget those boys, and neither will their amazing mama, Binoculars.
Now these two beautiful girls are ready for forever.
Chickadee is looking for a home with a playful feline friend who wonât mind her wild child antics or the fact that every tail in the house is her favorite toy. Mama Binoculars, meanwhile, is hoping someone finally sees her.
We hate seeing mama cats overlooked when their babies grow up and find homes. Binoculars has done her part. She protected her baby through the hardest days and helped her become the thriving kitten she is today. Now she deserves a family all her own.
This chatty, affectionate girl is the ultimate bestie, happiest curled up beside you on the couch or making herself comfortable on a piece of crinkly paper because she doesnât need fancy things to be happy.
Chickadee and Binoculars are ready to fly into their forever nests. Could one of them be waiting for you? đŠââŹđȘč

One year ago, Blairâs world changed in an instant when her mom suffered a stroke and was hospitalized indefinitely.
When we first learned about her, Blairâs caretaker shared the heartbreaking situation. While loved ones did their best to visit and care for her, Blair was suddenly alone in the only home she had ever known. We often think about the uncertainty she must have felt, waiting by the door with no way of understanding where her person had gone or if she was ever coming back.
Thankfully, we were able to step in and give Blair a fresh start. She traded loneliness for a loving foster home, and over the past several months weâve watched her slowly realize that she is safe, cherished, and deeply loved.
This month marks one full year since Blair came into our care, and somehow this wonderful girl has not received a single adoption application.
At 10 years young, Blair has mastered the art of being both queen and comedian. She can rule her kingdom from the comfiest spot in the house, then leap into action the moment a wand toy or laser pointer appears. She is an elite cuddle buddy, a devoted TV companion who especially enjoys cartoons, and the proud owner of a smile so adorable it brightens every room she enters.
Blair has already endured more change and uncertainty than any cat should have to. Through it all, she has remained loving, resilient, and full of joy. Now all she needs is someone willing to give her the chance she deserves.
Letâs make this the summer Blair finally finds her happily ever after. đ©¶

Sundays are for slowing down. Whether itâs soaking up some sunshine and a soft breeze or snoozing the day away in your favorite spot, the end of the week should be solely for yourself. Clair de Lune and her sister, Soleil, know a thing or two about this sort of schedule.
This bonded pair of beauties had quite the Friday, as they had their annual vet checkup. We all know how stressful it can be for our kitties to go somewhere unfamiliar, so a little R&R is even more important for these girls.
Clair de Lune and Soleil have come so far since they were rescued during a TNR effort on a government property where they could no longer stay last year. Weâve watched them transform from totally shut down to totally sweet and silly! In their foster home with , they have gained confidence and learned that they absolutely love being loved.
Our little moon and sun are patiently waiting for someone to see just how amazing they are. It can take more time than usual to find a home for FeLV+ kitties, but we know the right family will come along. An FeLV diagnosis doesnât define a catâs future, and many otherwise healthy FeLV-positive cats thrive as beloved indoor companions with quality lives that are every bit as joyful as those of other cats.
The girls will be scheduled for dental cleanings soon to ensure they have everything they need for the start of a new life whenever the stars align for a forever home. We make sure every kitty in our rescue receives all of the veterinary care they need prior to adoption because their health is paramount to us.
Please help us share Clair de Lune and Soleilâs story to find their forever family, and submit an application on our website to be considered. đâïž
