POPE LEO XIV RELEASES DOVES, CALLS FOR PEACE IN BAMENDA

Pope Leo XIV made a symbolic call for peace in Bamenda by releasing white doves during his visit, drawing emotional reactions from the crowd.

Speaking at St. Joseph Cathedral, the Holy Father denounced violence and urged the faithful to be instruments of peace and justice, saying, “Be the oil that soothes human wounds” and “You who hunger for justice are the light of the world.”

He was welcomed by traditional rulers and government officials, including Territorial Administration Minister Paul Atanga Nji, as part of his ongoing apostolic visit to Cameroon.
