Good morning neighbors. If you arrived home on Friday to find your trash can missing, I may have found it in the open space just east of Tres Placitas Park. 311 has been notified, so hopefully a crew will be sent out to clean up the stinky trash before too long.

Hi Neighbors. Please see the info below regarding work being done at Unser and Paseo. Plan accordingly because the closure will impact traffic levels everywhere else. We all know what a crash on Paseo does to traffic on Alameda and Montano. 😭

Hi neighbors. Please see the information below, from CABQ, regarding the search for the next police chief.
Mayor Keller invites community participation in search for next Police Chief
Public survey starts today, forums next week
ALBUQUERQUE – The City announced the first phase of the search for a Chief of Police, which starts today with an online survey.
The city’s candidate search firm launched an online survey, available here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/community-input, to collect feedback from community members.
In addition, the City plans to host three public input sessions over Zoom to ensure a broad range of perspectives are heard. The Zoom sessions are being scheduled for next week and will be hosted by the city’s search firm, Public Sector Search & Consulting.
“Before we start looking at individual candidates, we want to get input on the qualities, experience and priorities of Albuquerque residents for their next chief of police,” Mayor Keller said. “Everyone should have an opportunity to have their voice heard.”
These Zoom sessions are expected to include participation from:
Advocates: Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2026 from 6-7 p.m.
Community Leaders: Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026 from 6-7 p.m.
Criminal Justice System Stakeholders: Friday, Jan. 30, 2026 from 11 a.m. to noon
Details about how to participate in the Zoom sessions will be released later this week.
Feedback gathered during this phase will help inform the recruitment and evaluation process as the City seeks a Police Chief who reflects Albuquerque’s values and is committed to constitutional policing, accountability, transparency, and community trust.
The second phase of the search will focus on candidate review and evaluation. The Mayor will make the final decision on the police chief.
The City of Albuquerque Chief of Police position is currently posted nationally. Interested candidates may apply at [email protected]
