Every October, CSVANW recognizes Domestic Violence Awareness Month by creating space for healing, remembrance, and collective action.

We know that running is healing. Movement is medicine.

Since 2016, the I Will Run for Them 5K has brought together survivors, families, advocates, Tribal leaders, and community members to honor those impacted by domestic and sexual violence. Every step is dedicated to our relatives. Every mile is a reminder that healing is possible when we move together.

Native communities continue to experience disproportionate rates of violence. Four out of five Native women will experience violence in their lifetime. These are not just statistics. They are our mothers, sisters, daughters, aunties, friends, and relatives.

Whether you run, jog, or walk, we invite you to join us in honoring survivors, remembering those we have lost, and creating pathways toward violence-free Native communities.
