In 2024, scholars from Dartmouth released research on the vital importance of monkey bars for childhood development.*

What did they find? That monkey bars are crucial not just for physical development—but psychological development, too.

As human beings, we need opportunities to test our limits to expand our physical and mental abilities.

Give kids the ability to explore boundaries through activities like monkey bars, and they’ll develop the ability to overcome challenges, learn from them when things don’t work out and “build resilience and confidence, skills that resonate throughout life,” says the Dartmouth anthropologist who published the paper.
