What a JOY-FILLED summer at First Glance! 🎉☀️🌳💛
Launch Kenmore just wrapped up their 7-week Summer Camp, and we are so thankful for all the memories made!
This summer was filled with adventure, learning, creativity, and so much fun! Our students spent a week at Camp Carl, explored nature, parks, and local field trips, learned about healthy snack options and the process of making chocolate, partnered with APS for three weeks to learn how to keep animals safe, got creative during our Paint & Create Day, and wrapped up the summer with a colorful chalk color war!
Each day, students were provided with breakfast and lunch, giving them a place to grow, learn, build friendships, and enjoy being kids.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who supports First Glance! Because of your generosity, opportunities like this are possible. Your support helps students build meaningful relationships and reminds them they are seen, loved by Christ, and valued.

Our 15th Annual First Glance Auction is coming up on November 7th.

🎒 Kenmore Back to School Bash! 🎉
Join us on Saturday, August 22 from 11 AM–2 PM at First Glance Student Center (943 Kenmore Blvd.) for a fun, FREE community event as we help students get ready for the new school year!
As we prepare for the school year, we're also collecting donations to bless local students and families. If you'd like to help, we're currently accepting:
🎒 New backpacks
🧺 New packages of kids' and teens' underwear (all sizes)
Donations can be dropped off at First Glance before the event.
We can't wait to celebrate with our community and help students start the school year feeling loved, supported, and prepared. See you on August 22! 💛

Last week at The Connect, we spent the evening talking about ways to regulate our nervous systems, reset in the middle of life's challenges, and find healthy rhythms together.❤️
To wrap up the night, each mom made a bracelet to serve as a simple reminder to pause, breathe, and reset throughout the week.
We're so thankful for the conversations, encouragement, and community that continue to grow at The Connect. ✨

Stay cool! Cooling center opened tomorrow!
The City of Akron will extend hours at Summit Lake Community Center (380 W. Crosier St.) on Wednesday, July 15 to provide a cooling center for residents in need. Summit Lake Community Center will be open between 9:00am and 9:00pm tomorrow. All other City of Akron community centers will be open during their normal business hours. The city will continue to monitor temperatures and will extend community center hours as necessary.
