A little bit about the Goidwill Art Works program;
These opportunities help the people involved gain life skills that they may be missing. It is a supportive group, they are to show up and do the work, check folks out who make purchases. They learn to budget, work with others and organize. Hitting daily schedules and some of them gaining enough confidence and skills to eventually move on to be independent members of the communities they live in. I am proud to have the chance to teach a few and now hang my work in the same space that they do their own creative work in the Tecumseh location.

Alrighty, here is the progression as I try to save it but if not,( which it clearly looks like it’s destined to be in the 💩 pile ), I’m at least learning quite a bit along the way.

I also used up the ink from today on my very first linocut, which I made in my class at the Adrian Center for the Arts a couple years ago. THAT one I like. A LOT. 🥰 It is our dog sleeping in the sun that was shining in through the living room window.

I want to thank my horse/art friend Carol for getting some photos of my painting ‘Showing Up’ down at the the Toledo Artist Club trade show. This show is of Adrian Center for the Arts artworks, then the Toledo artists will have a show up here in Adrian, I think I read in 2027.

This painting is available for purchase, and what a powerful piece it would make for a home or even in a nice barn.

I think I might invest in better carving tools. Still not done and that was another hour of carving.

The next step.

Well, kinda,
I had traced the original drawing to tracing paper.
Then made a few adjustments there because I like the original sketch and I don’t what to mess with it.
Traced the back with pencil.
Transferred the drawing to the linoleum. ( which I had wet sanded first. )
Drew over the transfer with permanent market.
Rubbed the whole thing with some cheap black acrylic paint.
NOW I am here.
