Our 6th confirmation students joined together with adults from the congregation to learn about the ways that we partner with Lutheran World Relief to serve those in need around the world. They even got to assemble kits themselves to put their learning into action. They put together 28 school kits, 26 personal care kits, 15 baby care kits, and 1 sewing kit. Thank you to the students and adults! It was a great time of of learning and service!

Pastor Jeremy, Tara and the 9 youth are safely home from St. Louis. Thanks for all your prayers and kind thoughts. It was an amazing trip.

Today was a wonderful day of service and ministry. We started the day packaging food for Wings of Love/Crisis Aid. This is a wonderful ministry that was an honor for us to share in. We worked with wonderful, appreciative people and the kids did great work. We finally made it for custard at Ted Drewes! Then we were off to shop for school supplies and deliver them to Good Shepherd, Pastor Jeremy’s friend Pastor Josh Brecht is the Senior Pastor there. We then toured the museum of Dred Scott. It was a wonderful history lesson for us all. Our final Bible study was on God’s promise and how he always keeps His and we should too.

It was another amazing and busy day! Despite all the rain, we were able to enjoy the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, the City Museum and Sugarfire Smokehouse! Our Bible study was on God’s invitation and we discussed how blessed we are to receive it.

07/26/2022

With St. Louis making national news we thought we should do a check in and let you know that we are doing just fine on our youth trip. There is a little water in our basement of the house we rented and the rain is keeping us from a few outside activities we had planned but the flood has not impacted our journey. We hear it’s the worst in 140 years maybe 21 inches. Continued prayers are always appreciated!

Day 2 was a busy day of sight-seeing! We spent the morning at Forest Park where we enjoyed the gardens at the Jewel Box, had fun around the fountain and exploring the Zoo. We also rode the Tram to the top of the Gateway Arch. Exploring the Arch museum was interesting. 1 of the park rangers sent us on some explorations which was fun and helped pass the time. We had supper and delicious ice cream at Union Station before heading back for Bible Study and down time!

We made it to St. Louis! We tried St. Louis Pizza (we don’t need again!), had our first Bible study on God’s boundless love and now we swim!!!

07/24/2022

Their journey has begin. Prayers for our youth, Tara and Pastor Jeremy. May they be rooted in Christ on this trip.
