Some aerial footage from this evenings very serious Motor Vehicle Crash on Rt 18 in New Bedford.

It is being shared on the South Coast Listening Post YouTube channel as it is a channel associated with our team and there were a large number of people monitoring the scanner comms on an SCLP Live ScannerStream and it seemed they would be most interested in the video.

Still trying to figure out how to break into News Stringer type services for some of our videos as the combination of the listening post and our video/photo capabilities might lend themselves nicely to that sort of work.

Mutual Aid responded from Fairhaven, Marion, Rochester, Acushnet and Wareham to help bring the fire under control.

Fresh from the scene of a very serious fire in New Bedford this evening. Still working on some video that was captured also... so keep an eye out on our YouTube channel incase we decide to post some of that as well.

While the end result may not be what we were all hoping for, it was still a tremendous amount of work from NBFD in keeping the fire contained to the original fire building. There is NOT a lot of space between those houses in that part of the city and the fire could have very easily spread into a multiple building fire in a matter of minutes!

May post others as we finish looking through the files. Not many great angles on the incident due to VERY complicated airspace and scene requirements. Safety is paramount and it very nearly kept us on the ground on this one!

Some airborne views of today's storm as it approached Acushnet. Had to land quickly to stay in line with proper cloud clearance rules.

It has been quite a while since we have posted on social media. After the wild events of July 3rd here in Acushnet, the AirView crew went out to do some damage survey imagery. While the photos were completed a bit too late for them to have a lot of value to the news media, we do hope that it holds some scientific value for the National Weather Service. We've turned as much of our data as we thought would be useful to Wx1box - National Weather Service Boston/Norton Amateur Radio Skywarn Group.

This is just a small sampling of what our first responders were up against all over town as the storm moved through. As damaging as the event was, it was fantastic to see everyone in town pull together to help out when their neighbors needed a hand.

A really cool modification for a DJI Matrice by New Bedford Fire Department! This setup allows for airborne monitoring of different combustible gasses as well as allowing a quick placement of a monitoring meter "down range" at an incident. This setup improves both time to obtaining realtime data as well as reducing danger and fatigue to human hazmat team members.

Airview Acushnet will be performing flights in the area of Garfield St in Acushnet this afternoon. These flights will be following FAA Part 107 rules and will remain below 100ft. They are expected to be completed by around 3pm.
