A little family farm in the country and home to the Abita Honey Co.

I decided to check on the 4 little pullets that I’m trying to add to Olaf’s flock. As soon as I walked in they flew up to me. Apparently I’m still their safety zone. What a cute age.

My poor kids are spending the day in their stall. Frosty’s feet can’t take another day of walking through mud. This storm needs to hurry up and move on. But at least they have each other.

Our son has started giving these boys Saints inspired names - Tyler Cluck, Travis Egg-tienne…. If he doesn’t fill his roster the rest may become Peter Pan’s Lost Boys. Seems fitting. 😂 Poor boys are having to wait on their coop because this storm has shown us we need to work on drainage first.

Blending new grow out chicks into an existing flock is hard because let’s face it - hens are the original mean girls. The second Serama hatch had to be split up and has chicks going into three different coops. Olaf’s crew is still being awful to their new girls placed there but Artie’s crew seems to be just fine with the two new baby frizzles. Artie runs a classy little coop.

We have a new tiny layer in Olaf’s flock. They are only 16 weeks old. This egg is SO small.

What’s at the end of your rainbow? Not surprisingly for me it was ponies….

For the record I will actually still make it to work on time. Despite my odd choices.

Every evening this American Toad shows up on the back patio. Not sure how he has survived with Kita and Bear around. But tonight he brought the missus. Careful, buddy.

We still have these rowdy Serama roosters in the garage so I’ve been letting them run around. Like a bunch of toddlers they chose the empty box for their games. So I gave in and added some snacks. 😂

I’ve done nothing with my garden this year. I don’t know how it’s doing so well. I probably have another 15 jalapeños that are ready to pick. And the red bell peppers are almost ripe too. It must be all the rain because it sure isn’t due to my efforts.
