Gov. Rhoden Signs Richmond Lake Dam Bill

PIERRE, S.D. – Today, Governor Larry Rhoden signed SB 121, which transfers moneys and makes an appropriation for the replacement of the Richmond Lake dam and spillway.

“Investing in reliable infrastructure is essential to keeping our communities strong, safe, and free,” said Governor Larry Rhoden. “I’m proud to sign this bill to protect the Aberdeen community and ensure the Richmond Lake dam continues to serve South Dakotans for generations to come.

Senator Carl Perry is the Senate Assistant Majority Leader and Representative Al Novstrup is the Vice Chair of the House Appropriation Committee and Chairmen of the House Revenue Sub-Committee.

Senator Perry was the Senate Prime of SB 121 and Representative Al Novstrup was the House Prime Sponsor. SB121 passed the Senate by a 28-2 vote and the House 61-3.
