Meeting four teen mothers in less than 30 minutes during a random hospital visit was a sobering reminder of a reality we continue to address with intention.
remains a concern in our communities. This year, we are committed to action through empowerment, skills development, mentorship and prevention.
We look forward to enrolling out-of-school girls, teen mothers and young women into our mentorship program; offering leadership development, economic empowerment and practical skills such as handmade crafts among other life-skills.

During a recent skills training workshop, facilitated by , we spent a couple of weeks with teenage mothers and out-of-school girls, guiding them how to use the , and other essential tools.
These workshops go beyond learning a skill: they are moments of shared experiences, heartfelt conversations and empowerment that comes from creating marketable products to generate income and build dignified livelihoods.
At IGACU, we believe it’s possible to create safe spaces where young women are embraced, guided and equipped to keep chasing after their dreams.
