THE AFRICAN ELEPHANT

The African elephant is the world's largest land mammal weighing up to 6 tonnes.

The ears of African elephants are much larger than their cousins and are described as being shaped like the African continent, whereas the ears of Asian elephants are shaped like the Indian subcontinent.

Elephants have been documented and known to feel grief when they have lost loved ones or family members. Its also possible that elephants are some of the animals that have a very good memory often stated that they don’t forget.

Elephants are can eat an average of 159kgs per day and with an average of 4050 litters per day and using the mighty 150,000 muscle trunk.

Kidepo Valley National Park (Classic Game Viewing)

The Park is bisected into two by the seasonal Kidepo River, making the Narus valley and Kidepo valley. The Narus Valley contains the park’s only permanent water points and wildlife congreg*tes in this area for much of the year. Look for buffalo and elephant in the swamps along the valley floor, giraffe and eland on the drier slopes above and scan the rock outcrops for lions.

Kidepo Valley is gifted with stunning scenery with Kanangorok Hot Springs and dry seasonal rivers and views of Morungule mountain ranges. On a lucky you might be find ostriches and secretary birds.

The African Leopard 🐆🐆🐆🐆

One of the famous solitary, shy cats and king of camouflage because of perfect savanna plumage with black rosettes. These kings and queens are always spotted together during the matting seasons. 🤓😲

While on safari here in Uganda and the Sub Sahara region in general, if you you’re having a night game drive or an early morning game drive (dusk to dawn), you might be lucky to see one.😂😋🥰

Patas Monkeys (Erythrocebus patas)

Is one of the primates that can be found here in Uganda. These monkeys are commonly sighted on ground feeding in groups of 5 and more members. While Visiting Murchison Falls national park and Kidepo valley national park, watch out for these guys.

Males are bigger and stronger compared to females and breeding is especially in the rainy season. Include these monkeys on your animals to see while out there in the wild.
