Nanny/Housekeeper/Child Whisperer:
Our amazing nanny/housekeeper/house manager Sylvia Namujjuzi worked with our family for 2 years. Sylvia came to us highly recommended having worked with U.S. Embassy
families for the past 8 years. This being our first overseas assignment as a family, arriving at Post with a 5 year old and a 1 year old, was no easy task, but on day one, Sylvia welcomed the responsibility.
For two years, Sylvia continued to effortlessly manage our household on a daily basis. She packed wonderful and healthy snacks and lunches for the kids, ensured that the kids arrive and were picked up from school on time, coordinated after-school activities such as play dates and swimming lessons, all while keeping the house immaculate, making sure all our clothes were clean, and spending quality time with the kids. Sylvia enjoys coloring and reading with the children and loves taking the kids outside to play a fun game of hide and go seek, an impromptu water “fight” or a bike ride within the compound. Sylvia can also cook simple meals for both adults and children and assists our cook in the kitchen during large parties, intimate gatherings and nightly dinners.
Sylvia is an exceptionally hard worker; trustworthy, loving, kind and dedicated to her work. I am positive that Sylvia will quickly become an indispensable part of your family as she was with ours.
She is available for full-time work and prefers to be placed with a family with children and would also prefer to live on compound.
Email Michelle at [email protected] for any more information or contact Sylvia directly at +256 783 636244

At Ambrosoli we believe in educating the whole child. With this in mind, our physical education program is carefully designed to meet the needs of all our learners by increasing the competence and confidence of learners in a range of physical activities. From the youngest learners (three years of age) to the oldest (eleven years of age) students' skills, knowledge and understanding are introduced and enhanced through a supportive, collaborative and inclusive environment, looking at each learner as an individual.

The sports program includes activities such as games, gymnastics, dance, athletics and swimming. There are opportunities for learners to extend their learning through our after school activities program which features sports clubs such as: football, basketball, swimming, cricket, tag rugby, track and field, and hockey, among others!

Many students who join us from abroad do not speak English. These learners have a dual task: to learn English (as a language) and to learn (through) English whilst at school. Children who join Ambrosoli and learn English at school are fully supported in an inclusive environment. They are paired with children that speak English as a first language, boosting the learner's confidence and encouraging friendships. Working collaboratively, the class teacher and EAL teachers ensure that the learner is challenged enough to meet their academic abilities. Contact Liz in the admissions office to find out more - [email protected]

What do our parents say?
Nathaniel joined Ambrosoli in November 2020 during online learning. As a family, we felt included in the school as a whole from the beginning and I was impressed how quickly Nathaniel settled into his new environment. Nathaniel spoke limited English when joining and we are so happy with the professional approach towards making him feel included and assisting him in a way that he didn’t feel different to the other children. This really helped him grow in his confidence. We really like the teaching methods and are looking forward to a great year ahead as Nathaniel joins Year 4.

Mustardseed School – Start small, grow great

Every year Ambrosoli supports an organization in need. This year’s chosen organisation is Mustardseed Junior School, located just outside Kampala. At the heart of the link between Mustardseed Junior School, Ambrosoli International School and Magdalen College School are shared educational goals. Alongside fostering academic excellence, all three schools aim to provide their students with a broad range of extra-curricular activities in a supportive environment. They strive to nurture pupils’ confidence and curiosity, and to equip them to make positive and lasting contributions to their communities.
This three-way partnership with Mustardseed, Magdalen and Ambrosoli is aimed at encouraging a focus for fundraising, professional development, sharing of curriculum and training, and to develop a strong link between schools for moderation, assessment and succession. Mustardseed School – Start small, grow great The name of the school is taken from the parable of the Mustardseed.  If you plant even the smallest of seeds in fertile ground, it can grow into a mighty tree that will provide a home for the birds of the air to make their nests and raise their young.

This week we will move back to online learning for the final three weeks of school. Whilst online learning can fill us with dread, I have to say that I am so overjoyed at the resilience and adaptability of all of the children and staff at Ambrosoli School. Our community does not easily scare. Instead, they positively embrace risk and challenge, and are always motivated by learning and growth - something that I am extremely proud of. As we move into closing this chapter 'The Year 2020-21' I am excited by what the end of the year marks - a time of looking back on special memories and amazing growth, and of looking forward to new adventures and another chapter ready to be written. Well done Team Ambrosoli for all your hard work, strength and perseverance navigating these difficult times - you are doing amazingly!

Welcome back to school.
Parents & caretakers are kindly reminded that all Ambrosoli students from Year 2-6 are required to wear a mask on campus. To be effective, these masks must fit your child's face properly and be fresh and hygienic. Please make sure that you provide your child with a clean mask each day, that fits comfortably and snugly. Together, let's work to keep our children healthy and safe and able to enjoy campus life.
