EARLY MORNING PRAYER FOR TODAY (ACTS 12)
Father, thank You that You supernaturally open doors and make things happen that I can’t make happen and don’t deserve. Thank You that I can stay in peace in difficult times, knowing that at any moment You can turn things around. Whether You do it gradually or suddenly, I will rest in You. In Jesus’ Name i pray and believe.

TAKE YOUR 100 MILLION, AM NOT FOR SALE
BALIMWEZO SHOCKS PARLIAMENT

Nakawa East Member of Parliament, Hon. Ronald Balimwezo, has surprised many Ugandans after he publicly rejected a UGX 100 million payment reportedly given to Members of Parliament.

Speaking during Easter prayers at Old Kampala prayer grounds, Balimwezo said he cannot accept money that he did not work for.

“As a Christian, I want to be honest with myself and with the people I serve,” he said.

“Take your money, I’m not for sale. I will not be labelled a thief.”

Balimwezo said he refused to take the money because he believes it is wrong and corrupt.

He added that this is not the first time MPs are given money without proper explanation.

According to him, the growing culture of corruption in Parliament has made him lose faith in the system.

“I cannot continue working in a Parliament where corruption is becoming normal. That is why I will not stand again in 2026,” he said.

His decision not to seek re-election has shocked many in Uganda’s political circles.

Some people have praised him for being brave and standing up for what is right.

Others are now asking why other MPs have remained silent about the money.

Civil society groups and opposition leaders have also raised concerns about the money.

They say that public officials must be transparent and should not receive unexplained payments.

Balimwezo’s actions have started a big conversation about ethics and leadership in Uganda.

Many Ugandans are now asking for change and want leaders who care more about the people than about money.

One voter from Nakawa East said,

“He is a man of integrity. We need more leaders like him. It is sad he is leaving politics, but we respect his choice.”
