When everyone drove to the office and I woke up to the kitchen. I had fears, I doubted if what I was choosing would work out. This day gives me joy. I celebrated it before I started the journey. It gave me hope seeing those who went before me. I will always celebrate it.

It’s no coincidence that today was Thanksgiving Sunday at church. I want to say Thank you as you enter a new season . I have seen you love and pour your heart in each student and all you do. Your vocabulary and eyes only see possibilities. Your love for the Culinary Industry in our land is out of this world. The next generation will live to feast on your seeds.You see greatness in each one of your students and make sure you call it out. I refer to you as Chef Papa because you have believed in me.You have given me a chance to all my firsts.You have loved me and my family. What a blessing and an honor to serve under you. I’m always learning. It’s a privilege. I’m grateful.

If it tastes so good at the first bite it must be brioche. It’s richness makes you want to eat more and more. The process of making it is a labor of love. I figured baking some would be a perfect way to spend my Sunday afternoon.

As everyone packed something to keep them warm I was thinking of what kitchen item or spice to carry with me that would make our camping memorable through food. I thought a picnic set up would be perfect. A mini graze board came to mind and I packed a few things that would make it pop.

We sat by the fire (i forgot to take a clear picture) from 9pm till 7am.We shared in the word,had deep conversations about God, laughed & danced. It was a blessing to see a new day unfold in our eyes. We took a moment to enjoy the sunrise and also sunbathed.

We’ll left relaxed,happy,grateful and very satisfied 😂 . It was a Thanksgiving Bonfire 🔥.

My Papa in the culinary world normally says make it fancy but connect it to the land that feeds us (motherland). While making this dish I thought of the “mugoyo” (mixture of beans and sweet potatoes) I did away with the beans because I didn’t have them at moment.

I never want to go through my gallery. My enzymes are always left wanting😭. I remember this day vividly. I had been teaching a lovely house manager how to make quick simple meals for the family for sometime.On this day I was teaching her how to make chicken biryani.The class was great.We sat down and enjoyed the fruits of our labor.I encouraged her to give it a try when she gets a chance.It didn’t take a week and I received a message from her boss.She had nailed it (scroll to see her plate in the last slide) I was over joyed.I just wanted to go and hug her. I mean the process is not for the faint hearted and she had pulled it off in one try.

Farm to table vibes. We went to check on our mother yesterday. She spared some time to take me through one of her recipes ( boiled spaghetti) I thought I had mastered it while growing up but I failed on every trial.

Food is a perfect connection to almost everything. The other day I took this picture and I just wanted to talk about this book. I would recommend it for anyone in the wait for children or anything you’re believing God for. God really showed off in their story.

We never talk about seasons of waiting because we are scared of the outcome.The what if’s crowd our heads because society has taught us that we cope by being silent. The waiting season is one that will kill you before your time. It will have you depressed for the rest of your life if you don’t have the right support system around you.You stop enjoying life now because you think you will live when your desire comes to pass. IT’S THE MOSTLY LONELY JOURNEY. It’s filled with why,when,I wish,what if and all kinds of frustration.It will blind you and make you think you’re in control till you exhaust all your power and lean in on God remembering what he says in Jeremiah 32:26-27

I would probably be in the gutters somewhere but I have seen God’s love for me. The last slide is always my answer when someone asks how have you been able to hang in there. I have experienced God’s love through people that every time I’m about to fall into the traps he has someone ready to help me carry on.I know he is with us and he is a faithful God. Genesis 21:6

I remember asking God to show me what to do and he pointed me to the kitchen.If you told me four years ago that I would be out there cooking in other people’s kitchens I would laugh at you because I didn’t see myself beyond our home kitchen. I just knew I wanted to change a carrier path which I have achieved from scratch. God has been good. I’m so grateful for growth. Thank you to all those who have trusted us to cater to your families and friends,those who have ordered different things from us not forgetting the ones that have believed in us to teach them a few of our recipes. You have made us Mia here for good reasons.Thank you for supporting our business.
