On Tuesday 1st February 22022, The Accounting Officer of the Ugandan Mission in Washington (Embassy of the Republic of Uganda, Washington DC) Margaret Awino Kafeero paid a courtesy call to the PPDA PR Office at the PPDA-URF Towers, Plot 39 Nakasero Road, Kampala.
She held discussions with the PPDA Public Relations Manager Cris Magoba. The main thrust of the discussions was the peculiarities and the challenges associated with applying the PPDA Act 2003, for procurement and disposal in the Mission.
The two agreed that the Mission can apply to the Authority for Accreditation for alternative means of procurement and disposal if the prevailing circumstances at the mission do not allow for appropriate application of the prevailing laws and regulations.
The Accounting Officer was advised that any application for accreditation must adhere to section 43 of the PPDA Act 2003 on the Application of basic principles of public procurement and disposal.
The proposed alternative must address the following:
non-discrimination;
transparency, accountability and fairness;
maximisation of competition and ensuring value for money;
confidentiality;
economy and efficiency; and
promotion of ethics.
Fare thee well Rev. Fr. Simon Lokodo.🙏
Condolence: The Board, Management, and Staff of @PPDAUganda commiserate with the Bank of Uganda (BOU) family for the loss of their Board Chairman and Governer, Prof.Emmanuel Tumusiime-Mutebile.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
This could be you...
