UIA was founded in 1965 by Insurance companies to promote the development and expansion of sound Insurance and reinsurance activities in Uganda. Association currently enjoys a thirty Seven (37) company strong membership. Of these, thirty three (33) are insurance companies and one (04) reinsurance companies. Our members in 2021 include:

Latimer notes that this year's edition of the CEO Forum is focusing on fortifying UIA & cultivating a unified voice for its members.

Following the UIA AGM and ICOGU AGM, the CEOs embarked on a thrilling game drive, exploring the diverse wildlife in Murchison Falls National Park.
The Insurance Consortium of Oil & Gas Uganda (ICOGU) Annual General Meeting is now underway at Paraa Safari Lodge - Murchison Falls National Park.

He commends members for upholding the Consortium's ethos & fostering full cooperation under the leadership of the Consortium Leader.
Kavuma emphasizes the Consortium's commitment to self-regulation & its proactive approach in seeking guidance from the regulator. He highlights the establishment of robust structures through stakeholder engagement facilitated by the UIA Secretariat.
He attributes the Consortium's achievements to members' collaborative efforts as he provides an overview of the Ghana Oil and Gas Insurance Pool as a benchmark, stressing the importance of local content, the need to review existing structures in order to optimize oil & gas operations.

We work to advance the interests of insurance and reinsurance companies by adopting a common strategy that encourages and promotes close cooperation, the exchange of business among members, builds on knowledge through research, influences the enactment of favourable legislation and presents the views of the membership to Government, quasi-government and private bodies.
