Some tips for travel this festive season fell fre to share to your family, Freinds and loved ones 😉😉😉

Travel tips for the festive season

Even with the pandemic situation, there is still more to thank God for and travel to celebrate, reflect, cool off or call it whatever suits your reason to travel in 2020. It will definitely cost money, time , planning but most importantly information to make the right decisions.

As k safaris team we are thankful to you our passionate and excited travelers that have been our ray of hope. Each of our travels with you have not only made us happy but widened our travel family.

Today we would like to concentrate on tips for the courageous self drive and solo travelers

1: No one should discourage you from waking up, fueling your car or motorcycle and start driving to tour to any destination. You already have the passion and brave enough to do it on your own but just below are a few things to consider to make it affordable and memorable

2: A little research on where you would love to visit, how long you would love to travel in relation to the experience you will get in all these destinations. We always encourage our travelers to spend more time in a destination to get good experience. Don’t rush, take your time

3: If you are visiting national parks, Uganda wildlife authority (uwa) went cashless so make sure you load money on mobile money especially mtn they now have Momo pay or use visa and Mastercard. Don’t be caught unaware because you will not be served with cash

4: Book Accomodation in advance and this means you deposit with cash. Being a festive season, the prices will be slightly higher and competitive so bookings are made with money to avoid shocking regrets on arrival

5: When booking seek clarity on status and type of booking. Terminologies like Fb(Full Board), Hb (half board), Bb ( Bed and Breakfast), Twin room (two beds in one room) Family room or cottage ( usually parents with kids), checking in and checking out time. This list is whole presentation of it’s own but yes these would give you guidance on questions to ask like a pro

6: Shop essentials like power banks, clothes that are easy to wash, wash and wear, travel light, simple first aid kit, drinking water bottles, tea mugs, snacks, walking shoes, flip flaps etc. These if not well thought over can spoil your travel experience.

7: Avoid wearing closed shoes especially on days of long drive, make stop overs, move out of the car for proper blood flow to the legs and feet especially for those that have a swelling problem when they travel. Don’t drive express, experience the journey

8: While in the park especially for game drives use services of ranger guides. They are not expensive and give a better experience, less chances of getting lost and loosing track of to time.
Greet people, it’s ok to ask when lost, attitude should be left in Kampala😉😉. People are always willing to help and also tip those in service just like you would love to be appreciated.

9: Service your car well, should be in a good mechanic condition, have back up cash in case of any emergency. Avoid over speeding you are on a travel adventure not rushing for your next appointment

10: Understand that there are scheduled activities that have an appointed time like Boat cruise. Others are non scheduled do keep time when you hear the word scheduled activities to avoid inconveniences .

We are open to travel advice and any other questions, suggestions and planning. We wish you a beautiful festive season
