Tanzil Abdallah, Mohammed Altaj, Nusreldin Eldouma, and Hamza Teirab will have their work up in their studios all week so if you missed the fabulous Open Studios last week you still have a chance to pass by! You can drop by our art centre on Plot 212 Sonko Close in Kabalagala anytime from 11am - 6pm this week.
Come and see Taj’s powerful photo gallery, Douma’s pristine watercolour paintings, Tan’s affecting crochet pieces and Hamza’s hand-made leather-works plus striking illustrations. Works are available for purchase.
The LANDING Residency was designed to provide displaced artists from Sudan a space to rest and reorient to a new environment. Thanks to Newcastle University @newcastleuni for supporting this residency.

To celebrate a year in our new home, we’re launching our new website (and new name)! Visit 32east.org 🎉 We’re dropping the weight and confusion of two names, and sticking to 32° East -- the geographic coordinates for Kampala; our base from where art and connections are made. The new website has many features that will be highlighted in the coming weeks including updated Artist pages and videos -- a fantastic archive of some of East Africa's most exciting artists 💞 Please check it out and let us know what you think! This session will be a moment for artists and community members to bring basic questions about what is happening in Gaza, and to learn more about the urgent need for solidarity at this moment.

#ArtistInResidence update with DeLovie Kwagala! #32Residencies Behind the scenes of DeLovie’s work in progress, #Repost | @aconstantbecoming Today, 14th. 02. 2023 after a photo session with @ajatummercy, we moved. We have both never seen each other move and then We flowed. We embodied each other’s energy and spirit. We floated. First time moving together. No preparation. Just serenity. Just energy. Just fluidity. You can’t tell me that movement is not magic otherwise how else is it possible to feel so much in a swaying moment? To listen so tentatively but not really to the body as it guides you by its breath of flow? How else is it possible to just connect in a mere moment with such sensuality and grace and consent? How else do you get lost in time but hyper present at the same time? How else do you loose yourself and find you in 5minutes? How else? Allow yourself the permission to flow and look silly. It’s okay. And just In case that’s a bit hard right now, to permit yourself, I give you permission to feel and flow. I love you.
