UG - Science Olympiad Foundation Uganda

Following the end of the 2024 Regional Qualifiers of the Uganda National Science Olympiad, we are excited to reveal the Finalist Teams who will compete for the title of National Champion at the UNSO 2024 Grand Finale. The Grande Finale is slated for 01st June, 2024 at Galaxy International School Uganda.

The Regional Qualifiers of the 2024 Uganda National Science Olympiad have finally come to an end. Wishing all assessed teams the best of luck and looking forward to seeing as many of you at the National Round.

We have successfully concluded our three day Western Uganda Regional Qualifiers of the 2024 Uganda National Science Olympiad. Our teams paid a visit to all participating schools in the region to conduct an assessment of the students' six month scientific research projects.

We commenced the Regional Qualifiers for thr 2024 National Science Olympiad today. The Regional Qualifiers will go on until end of this month. We wish all teams good luck.

Earlier today, we hosted a few alumni for a Breakfast Meeting to engage in meaningful discussions about the future of the Science Olympiad Foundation Uganda. We reflected on past achievements, brainstormed ideas for future programs, and explored opportunities for growth and expansion.

We would like to announce our first-ever Alumni Breakfast Meeting, scheduled to take place on 02nd March, 2024. The primary objective of this breakfast meeting is to gather a select group of alumni to engage in meaningful discussions about the future of the Science Olympiad Foundation Uganda.

The girls had their very first excursion yesterday where they visited Rattanakosin Island, housing prominent landmarks such as The Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew, and Wat Phao. This excursion was a part of the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) event taking place in Thailand from December 1-10, 2023.

The Uganda National Team from to the 20th IJSO in Thailand has just touched down in Thailand. The team earlier had a city tour of Mumbai during their long layover (Frame 5 - 8). We wish them all the best.

We are thrilled to announce that Gayaza High School is set to represent our country at this year's International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) in Thailand 🇹🇭, from the 29th November - 12th December 2023. Wishing our Science Stars the best of luck!

We back to Dubai this January for the 2024 SCIFETE, and the excitement is already building up! But guess what? The 2024 edition promises to be even more exciting with an impressive lineup of experiences quite different from earlier editions🌟

Among other things lined up, we will fly around the world at TFT Aero, visit outer earth at SCASS and look into the future at the Museum of the Future.

The Uganda National Team had the distinct privilege of being guests at Galaxy International School, Almaty .kz .

In a heartwarming gesture unique to our team alone, a sumptuous dinner awaited us upon arrival,
Following the dinner, we embarked on a guided tour of the school, discovering the vibrant learning environment that Galaxy International School offers to its students.

At apex of our visit, Galaxy offered each team member a gift pack with souvenirs which will serve as cherished reminders of our time here in Almaty.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Principal of Galaxy International School, Almaty, for opening the doors of their institution and hosting us with exceptional warmth.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Principal of Galaxy International School Uganda , Dr. Ramazan , for orchestrating this unexpected and meaningful connection.

Today, our journey led us through a captivating tapestry of Kazakhstan's captivating landscapes and historical treasures.

First stop: Zenkov's Cathedral – a breathtaking architectural marvel that took our breath away. Its vibrant colors and intricate design showcased the country's artistic soul, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts.

Next, we ventured to the Independence Monument, a symbol of Kazakhstan's journey towards sovereignty.

Our final stop led us to the tranquil shores of Issyk Lake – a serene oasis nestled in the Issyk Gorge of the Ile Alatau Mountains at an altitude of 1759 meters (5770 ft) above sea level, about 40 km (25 mi) east of Almaty.
